Draft lottery talk

Rather gamble on Zion and try to get an extra pick than draft Scoot tbh. I just don’t see how a 6’2 slasher that shoots sub 30% from 3 and can’t defend is the franchise changer we need with the #2 pick. Sucks if we have to pass on Miller because of character poo. A 6’9 wing who can stroke it from 3 and likes to defend. Just the Hornets luck that he’s got off-court poo because he is every bit worthy of the #2 pick on the court. Looks like a combination of Klay Thompson and Paul George. Damn.

So you would rather have a 22 year old that is overweight and sees the court less than Hayward at 33 years old lmao.  Scoot actually looks like a franchise player idk what you have been watching or hearing. He rarely shot at the 3 point line with Ignite and its based on 1 season with a crap team.

Another update Woj just reported on Sports Center that Brandon Miller had a better 2nd workout than Scoot and he also impressed MJ in the interview. Said Miller solidified himself as the #2 pick.

I don't know who to believe anymore luckily we only have 1 more day of rumors.

A full strength Zion dialed in and this isn’t a discussion.  Zion and #14 for Hayward and #2 is intriguing.  Ton of risk IMO though cuz starting to wonder if Zion even wants to grind now with that huge contract.

If the Hornets ignore the red flags and gamble on Miller they only have themselves to blame.  Miller will be a role player IMO and Scoot is a much more competitive player.  Scott can be an all star quickly IMO.

Miller still may be the pick. Woj just reported on Sports Center he impressed in his 2nd workout and he interviewed will with MJ.

Dude, he shot 27% on 2.7 attempts per game, 76% free throw on just 3 attempts per game, and had just a 2/1 asst/to ratio. He was -2 overall. If that’s how he plays on a bad team, that’s what we should expect because the Hornets are a bad team with a bad coach. People are so stuck on his fall 2022 draft hype. And yeah, you aren’t educating anybody on Zion, hence why I said “gamble”. Also why I mentioned getting another draft pick to mitigate some of that risk. But go on.

That’s the one thing with Zion I would hope the FO would be able to have some more inside info to answer before making a decision would be how much is his head and his heart, and how much is his body. If his head and heart are in it, the upside is worth the gamble, if not, then it’s not worth it.

I really hope this isn’t true and our source on here is correct. Scoot is too good to pass up.

I get that, but Miller is also just as good. This dude was the best player in college basketball. People act like we getting some bum. We getting a freshman SEC Player Of The Year.

The thing with Miller is he has less bust potential than Scoot because he can shoot and is long enough to be a decent wing defender. At worst he's a 3&D player.

Not gonna pretend I’m more in the know than Woj for NBA. Have a couple rock solid sources in the Panthers and some feelers in the Hornets. Reported what I heard but also MJ having final say makes it more difficult to predict.

He is a 3 and D player exclusively IMO.  He doesn’t have explosive traits as an athlete at all.  He isn’t a great ball handler or passer.  I keep coming back to him disappearing for whole games sometimes.  Not one NBA team wants to trade up for him.

There is no way you watched him at Alabama and came to that conclusion. He has plenty of highlights with him handling the ball and creating off the dribble. His handle for his size is actually pretty decent. If Jaylen Brown can score 26ppg without a handle that gives me a lot more confidence can do it with a better handle than Brown.

Also you really think a pure shooter would be in the discussion for a top 3 pick?

Obviously he is more than a shooter. I see him more as a Danny Granger type player.

Most teams have them in the same ballpark (all-star level players) with some having scoot a little better prospect because of his athletic abilities.

It's not clear cut to NBA teams.
