whats the deal with this kid. havent gotten time to look at him much but i know he hasnt seen the field much. i know alot of people had a high grade on this kid coming out of the draft and he was suppose to be a huge steal for us.so i dont understand with the rash of injuries how he hasnt seen much action.

Robinson is a rookie and typically rookies get abused their first year although there are some exceptions. The issue with him coming out of the draft was that he was big and strong but unpolished and poor in pass protection. The reality is we have better guys right now as starters and backups. He is improving going against the defensive starters every day and will get better. Most linemen make their biggest jump between year 1 and 2. I epxect he will be here and get playing time next year. He is like Johnson was when he got here, a project at first but later an integral part. It is better to ease him into the role than thrust him in there with all the inherent mistakes. If he were starting the line would be more porous than it already is.

Usually when a kid slides, there is a reason.

OG is such a hard position to identify good talent at. Some of the best in the biz are late round picks and UDFA's.

SD is playing with a UDFA LG and a rookie at RG, and they have one of the best passing games in the league.

Also Duke was projected as a strict OG and not a OG/OT.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
