Chances regardless of who our coach is, that we resign Moore

I think you guys are saying what YOU hope will happen.

I'll tell you what will happen if Fox is still around. Jake will start all 16 games unless he is injured again. The allegiance is incredibly strong between the two. Even if we draft a QB, he will get exactly zero play time (unless our record sinks to crap by mid-season).

If Fox is around, I wouldn't be too hopeful for any younger QB play time. It just won't happen, given Fox's philosophy.

If Fox ISN'T re-signed, all bets are off. I just don't see them firing Fox after this season. I expect a one/two year contract.

And this is why we need to keep Moore. He's kinda remind me of a younger Jake in his first season with us. Well, more younger than Jake when he started thought. I hope we keep him next year with how promising he is & likely will get even better if giving more chance. Plus, maybe we can cut Feeley & McCown and put Cantwell as another backup QB with Jake.

While I love what Moore is doing, and I think he may really ahve a future here, we need to head into training camp with someone young to look at, Jake, Moore, and a veteran (perhaps McCown, since people around here were so high on him)... regardless of QB, there needs to be a real competition in training camp... unless Moore blows out the remaining two games like he did tonight, then he can be penciled in as the starter, but we still need to look into expanding our QB development.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
