Just seeing what the other backyard chefs are using to grill/ smoke their gameday food with .

I'm currently running a masterbuilt gravity, after years of using a stick burner offset I'm beyond happy with the ease and results this things has put out. Makes for a damn good smoker and a great grill. Has the convenience of a gas and pellet grill yet I still get the flavor as I did with the offset.

Doing surf and turf tonight with smoked crab legs and some reverse  seared ribeyes !!

Slightly modified Weber 22" Kettle.

Added some seals to the lid to help with temp regulation.

Cant do more than about 10 hours before I just cant add more fuel but it gets the job done until we finish our next relocation and I go for a BGE & UDS set.

Have you seen the VENOM add-on for the Weber from Spyder Grills?

OFF TOPIC: I need admin help on how to reset my password cause when i use the forgot password and enter my email. It does not resend anything to my email and yes i check the junk folder. I tried many times and waited for days....is it broken?

I want to sign-in on another device but forgot my password and cannot find any admin help area or thread to respond to for help. 😞

First timer here. I got the Traeger 575 pro & will use it for the first time this weekend. I’ve never smoked anything before so I’m a bit anxious. Question: would you recommend getting a fire board thermometer? Anything else you suggest accessory wise that a beginner should have?

Make sure you do a burn-in before you attempt any food cooking

Fireboard is decent choice for tracking overall temp/cooking routines as you build your skills.

You can also check Thermoworks' website for any additional temp-related items that you may like (their Thermopen is the A+ standard for insta-read thermometers)  Don't pay full price for any of their stuff, they run sales super-regularly for 10-20-30% (or more).

Keep in mind that a Traeger (well, pellet cookers in general) are more like an oven with smoke flavor rather than a traditional smoker. You're not going to get massive smoke from any pellet vs a dedicated smoker -- the food will still be good, but if you're looking for a heavy smoke profile you may be disappointed.

You also are unlikely to get any decent "grilling" on a pellet cooker. You may want to check out GrillGrates for anything that needs a post-smoke sear

My dad got one about a year ago. I'm thoroughly unimpressed.

I have a small egg I do most of my grilling on. Have a big old school side offset wood smoker for the heavy lifting. Zero gas. I was forced to primarily grill on propane the 14 years I lived in CO because burn bans were the norm during the summer.

The 2023/2024 model brand new $$$ high end Traegers are supposed to be decent options compared to lower-end or older Traeger models, but you're paying a lot for the brand name and marketing vs other pellet brands with similar cooking feature sets

Traegers are also built in China, if that's something that matters to you. (Some outdoor cooker people are particular about only buying American-made grill items)

The new hotness these days seems to be the Kamado Joe line over the Big Green Egg.  Basically the same product, but less expensive and has more innovation in the add-ons.

    • Plenty of teams are QB desperate so someone will probably roll massive dice on Willis and give him a legit franchise QB contract but that's insane. He hasn't done anything that warrants anything more than signing a short term prove it deal and being offered a fair chance to compete for a starting job in camp. Signing up for any commitment level beyond that would be crazy.
    • I don't know that he is a pro bowler but I think he has earned the right to compete for a starting job. I think if he were in this draft he's the number 2 QB behind Mendoza. And his tools are better than Mendoza in terms of arm mobility. That said Mendoza is far more advanced as a passer. I think if I'm one of those QB needy teams that needs a starter this season like are we saying he isn't better than Sanders? I think we are asking is he better than Kyler? I know he's better than Fields. And at this stage in his career he's better than Rodgers. So the idea that he won't start somewhere to me next year I can't see it
    • Maybe that's because we don't have a good tight end? I don't think anyone we have at tight end warrants the kind of attention Sadiq would. Like talent wise he's on a different planet than probably all our tightens combined
