most of these yards came in garbage time lol you ppl are insane

So what constitutes "garbage time?" All that is is an overused catch phrase that really doesn't mean anything. Stroud was NOT playing against a prevent defense for the preponderance of the game, and Indianapolis was trying to thwart the Texans from coming back in the second half. That's how football works sometimes---a lot of times.

Garbage time should be when the other team is playing prevent defense. Which the Colts were not until very late in the game. Look at CJ Strouds third down numbers for an overall look at how well he has been playing under pressure this season.

There are some throws CJ made Sunday that Bryce just isn’t physically able to make. Even some of his incompletions were encouraging

Chances are Bryce could also have a pretty good game vs that Colts defense too. Falcons/Saints had a higher ranked defense last year and obviously are ranked higher this year so far than the Colts as well. When was the last time they actually had a good defense? The Dwight Freeny Robert Mathis days? You guys are grasping at straws trying to draw conclusions after 2 regular season games lol. Stroud might not throw for another 300 yards all season. I get being disappointed with the offense but they played two very formidable defenses very early in the season. Need to relax.

A QB can’t ever be a good QB if they can’t even have a decent game against a good D. It’s not like we played an all time great defense.

I don’t care about the yards it’s the throws he’s making. When you’re able to make the type of throws he does the yards are going to come

It's the conclusion many people came to when watching his gametape. Well people that weren't immediately yelling "but OSU QB" or "but he has the greatest receivers in the history of college football". The kid has terrific arm talent. He hung in there against Georgia. These were the things we wanted to see. The results are not in for either QB by a longshot. But the very important physical intangibles you either have or you don't.

That's true except we're talking about a players first 2 games. Everyone wanted Bryce to come out and light it up much like Cam or even Stroud did, but unfortunately the offensive system and skill players we have in place make it almost impossible for that to happen.

Maybe we chose Bryce because we knew he was the one to best handle this situation we currently find ourselves in with the offense. Hopefully they felt confident dropping an undersized rookie QB into a less than ideal situation, to learn from it knowing it wouldn't destroy his confidence like it would have AR/Stroud if they were brought into this system. There are going to be growing pains. Hopefully Bryce can learn and become better, same with our coaches and scheme.
