How does Zavala, (or anyboby for that matter), get a goose egg for pass blocking? You'd havde to think that a palyer would eventually accidentally get in the way of a rusher for a play or two a game.

PFF has a weird formula. If I remember right the score is the net of negative plays and positive plays combined added from zero. So it’s not grading you like a math quiz, it’s how many positives vs negatives and then some other X and Y factors to get the score.

Basically he did little to no good with very capable match ups and conditions and it was so one sided he couldn’t push the formula to a positive number.

I hate to break it to you but fans don't want to see Young at least reasonable fans who realize Bryce is most likely a bust

LOLwut?  No way you're being serious.  As I've said, its too soon to call Bryce a bust, its also too early to say he'll be fine, but its an unknown after 2 friggen games.  That said, no one, not even Andy Daltons mother have ever said they want to see Andy Dalton play QB right now.  Dalton is on his last leg in the NFL and offers absolutely nothing to us for future hope regardless of how he does.  Since we suck, we need to play young players and see if there's any hope for the future with them.

Isn’t there a thread of folks saying start Dalton the rest of the year?

Didnt even think but yea, you're right.  Its a terrible Idea there too, Ive seen the thread and presumed it was everyone just saying how bad of an idea that is.  Fact is we need to see how our young players are, we're not winning now and its obvious, so we need to see if theres ANY future with the team with our young players.

Ummm... the Vikings are gonna score 50

I don’t think so. The betting line is going to be pretty accurate in this one I think. Been looking at the Vikings all day, they literally only have the Cousins to Jefferson connection which will be 3/4 of their yards. The OL is like ours and the run game isn’t there.

Their defense isn’t there at all. If Dalton plays it’s close. I expect a 27-24 or 31-27 type game.

If Bryce and his 20 flat routes show up it could get ugly.

I'm going to give Ikcey a break since he's having to try and pickup some slack from Zavala filling in at LG - and is coming off his worst game of the year by far - but it is disappointing. His PFF grade was like 20 points higher on the year after the Saints game, IIRC.

It's a reminder that, despite playing well overall last year, Ickey is still a young player with developing left to do.

I am not sure if we realized how much missing the starting guards would set this team back. This line was put together as more to run block than pass block. That was one big change from last year. The Offensive tackles have probably been affected by trying to compensate for ineffective guard play as well.

    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
    • You do know the biggest military base in the US is located just an hour from Raleigh in Fort Bragg right? Military families are family oriented. A hour drive to games is nothing compared to traveling 3 hours to Charlotte.   Cmon man there is nothing happening in Western Carolina other than Charlotte. I only go west for outdoor activities and some nature/mountain views.
