Mr and Mrs Tepper won't be firing themselves and I doubt they'll sell... so what's your solution?

Promote Dan Morgan to GM. Demote Frank Reich to head coaching duties only. Promote Thomas Brown to offensive play caller. Take a long vacation and leave the football decisions to someone else. Profit.

the afternoon rush on 730am discussed the "what if" the panthers are 0-6 at the bye, while they didnt think it was likely but they discussed moving everio up and brown the OC to see what you have.  Again they didnt think it was likely but the sheer fact that they are discussing that "what if" scenario and acknowledging Reich is in over his head is pretty telling 4 weeks in

I said earlier 4 or less wins and he absolutely has to be fired on general principle.  It would not happen but it should.  In the event we go 1-16, 2-15 then the fanbase probably would revolt if he and fitt are retained.  Promote Brown or Eerio and morgan since they are already in the building

But we are 4 games in and the season is already utterly and completely over.  Has to be a panthers record

Neither Brown nor Evero would accept the job in a situation like that. If you fire the head coach and the GM everyone will be out of a job. The next GM will have to hire the coach who will not accept the job without an assurance they could hire their own staff. I seriously doubt anyone is going to sign up for having his staff handed to him after what would have taken place to get to that point here.

Im saying in that scenario, which I dont think is likely, you simply promote morgan to gm.  0.0% chance he doesnt accept it.

The overall point however, is that scenario is far fetched but its already being discussed 4 weeks in.  Pretty crazy

It's too early for me to say that this is not going to work.  I expected that it to be ugly for awhile with all the turnover and a patchwork of who's who staff.

What I didn't expect was the play calling, or lack there of, to be this pathetic. I didn't expect to see the disarray on the sidelines from veteran nfl coaches.

I'm beginning to think that there's not as much unity of thought in the building right now.

Yeah I said this in another thread but I got a feeling that if shithead gets canned Tepper either won’t promote Evero or Evero won’t take it. You’ll see some odd ball like Caldwell, McCown or Tabor named interim. Evero is probably getting a HC gig somewhere else next season anyways.

I doubt Tepper dismantles the staff at the end of the season though, probably keeps everyone together with the interim guy so there isn’t back to back staff rebuilds.

Frank will get at least 2 years to show he still has a brain in his head. He's not getting off to a promising start here that's for sure.

At this rate I see Tepper moving the team if we keep this crap losing rate up for the next 3-5 years. There is no contract with Panthers and current stadium. Tepper did not build his sports complex in South Carolina. What’s keeping him here? He would probably run tail and start fresh somewhere else with a new fan base.

moving the same players/coaches from one location to another doesn't fix winning.

    • Ok fair to judge only his starts.  But you do acknowledge that going from "he's waaaay above league average in a number of categories" to "here's a single stat where he's above league average (not "waaaay") and another where he is exactly at the league average" is a pretty significant backpedal, no?  I'm guessing he's probably in the ~10th range for completion percentage too if we're only looking at starts (I'm too lazy to isolate his starts and do the calculations), so I'll grant you that one too.  But I don't think completion percentage is all that meaningful as a standalone stat if it isn't bolstered by good TD%, Y/A, etc. On that note, for how much people like posting Passing Charts in here (*cough* CRA) - if you peep Shough's passing charts, he hasn't completed a single 20+ yard pass in the past 3 games combined.  His last one was in Week 13 against the Dolphins, which was a single pass of 24 yards.  I just want to be consistent in how we apply our standards - I think it's always been warranted to criticize Bryce for it (even dating back to his rookie season), but do we suddenly not care about that with Shough? And yeah I did acknowledge that Saints' fans have reason to be excited about him and complimented his poise, which is giving my props.  Still not sure I agree that he looks better than a "ton" of QBs nor do I think you or anyone have really demonstrated that.  I think you are generally one of the more reasonable level-headed posters which is why I'm confused at what I consider to be rather hyperbolic language about Shough.
    • I don't disagree with you, but want to point out that Tremble's strong suit has always been blocking. Case and point: on Horn's 25 yard run, he lays down not 1 but 2 nice blocks...and is looking for #3! https://www.panthers.com/video/jimmy-horn-jr-s-25-yard-run-gives-panthers-red-zone-access-on-first-drive
    • It is a popularity contest.  The selection does have meaning though. It is also 1 of the criteria that is considered for the HOF. The game does not have any significance. The team hasn't been to the playoffs in nearly a decade. That's why they don't get primetime national coverage. To the victors go the spoils.
