I wasnt around much doing the off season but it must have been toxic. I cant remember the last time at fanbase turned on a #1 pick so fast.

Usually no matter how bad a player is, a fanbase would bend over backwards to justify the pick. The Jamarcus Russell's and Zach Wilsons of the world still had the advocates after a year of play and people are giving up on Bryce after 3 games??

My assumption is this is mostly due to heavy debate in terms of who the QB should have been in the first place, but now that he's here I dont understand why some are waving the white flag after 80 NFL throws.

We’ve just seen nothing exciting from Bryce on top of the fact that we gave up assets to get this guy. It’s really because it’s incredibly immediately obvious that we don’t have much to cling to because there’s nothing to cling to with Bryce right now. Lump that with an awful football team and you get this.

Because out of those 80 nfl throws he hasn't shown not one to live up to a number one overall pick. Its not about wins, you want to see the talent of your investment on display and if you are drafted number 1 overall  you are the biggest show in town hy default. He has honestly looked like a game manager borderline starter to backup since pre season. Andy dalton had more high level plays in one game then we have seen from bryce since he got here. Its just the truth. The people that are finding ways to praise him i honestly dont know what they are looking at. Nothing is there.

I dont see anyone praising him here since the games started (preseason, sure). There are just some that are saying he's not a bust yet.

Andy Dalton has been in the league 12 years. He should look better imo.

look at this absolute laser beam from AR whewwww

Those are the kinds of plays i have been looking for from Bryce. The poise, accuracy, the confidence on the throw and just flat out big plays. Those kinds of plays give the team and fanbase confidence. Its reminds me how much cam did this on the regular his rookie year. That was a fun year, even tho we weren't winning like that.

Sure you are, buddy. You're just a bandwagon jumper. You low-key poo on UNC every time it's brought up. We don't need fans like you. Go follow Deion around wherever he ends up next. Be gone.

Never poo'd on UNC. You just mad because I said Caleb was better than Maye. Which is a fact.

Other than that I like what I have seen from UNC. Schedule will get tougher though we played some cupcakes so far. Currently in my UNC pajamas as I post this.

Why do yall keep saying this like its a valid response?? The offense had looked absolutely putrid before dalton got in there all around. He made it look competent by being inserted, you had confidence they could move the ball. Theilen and chark  looked serviceable and worth fa signings.  Above all the game was actually interesting.

Whats crazy is dalton hadn't even seen That much action up till then so he could have had a rust factor which was legitimate. He just looked more comfortable and did his job.

Why isnt that valid? Dalton looked much better. Im acknowledging that. Im saying that a guy whos been in the league 12 years looking better than a guy thats played 3 games, doesnt mean that the guy thats played 3 games will not turn into a franchise guy.

beleive me, the Dalton point is a salient one. Dalton isn't some incredible talent. He's a  decent backup journeyman vet QB.

The fact that theres such a huge contrast between the two when Andy vs Bryce is in the game is an indictment on Bryces ability to play QB at the moment. Especially given he was the #1 overall pick.

Your argument would hold more water if Bryce was some mid or late round project that we had minimal expectations for. But given the context of the situation of how Bryce was brought in here, its currently looking like a horrible draft decision. Until proven otherwise

    • Just as we won those close games we could have just as easily lost them. So the jury is out on if we were more lucky than good ( see the sweep by the saints) Were moving forward on paper. And how badly dont we all want to see us back to at least Above average form. Its about time.
    • If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.
    • Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
