i sleep in.

panthers have meetings all day. fox with JR and hurney.

tuesday will be the earth shaker of a day.

crossman fired, davidson moved to STs and asst OC. weis gets brought in as OC. oh...and williamson retires and we get a new WR coach.

or

fox resigns (not re-signs), meeks is promoted to HC for the year. crossman is fired. williamson retires.

the search for a new DC, STs coach, and WR coach begins.

by weeks end peppers is a cardinal and boldin is a panther.

fox/meeks announces that moore will be the starter going into camp.

it can happen.

If I second the motion does it go to the floor for a vote.

Sounds good to me. I actually believe Fox resigns which is what JR really wants.

I don't see us letting Meeks go. Next year's defense is gonna be sweet.

Go Panthers

Somehow probably by the use of ancient occult Nazi magic the Panthers get ushered into the Playoffs to begin a run at the Superbowl.

Oh and Aliens reveal themselves and that Jake Delhomme was really a scout sent to test our ability to withstand bad quarterback play in preparation for being drafted for the galactic war against the Reptilians.

Oh and Earth will be the first pick in that draft.

By the time Trgovac and other coaches left, it was the 24th of January. Meeks was hired the 26th. We had open coaching positions into 13 February.

Our last game had been the 28th of December.

well part of that would be because our last game was actually January 10th

Okay what's probably going to happen is nothing special.

Probably every single one of our assistants will stay. Even Crossman. I don't want to bum anybody out but on this small market team nobody really expects anyone to do their jobs, so Danny Crossman will probably get another year to stay because he is probably a nice guy in the workplace and personality over performance is the prevailing attitude in this organization. As long as you're not an asshole you will get 1,000,001 chances to prove that you are not cut out for what you're trying to do.

then: here comes the most exciting part.... The John Fox press conference, where he will regurgitate the same bullshit he always does "it is what it is" and "we just didn't execute" will be re-iterated repeatedly towards the reporters drooling on their notebooks and gazing into the ceiling like Rosemary Kennedy. Oh wait a minute, that's not exciting. I mean watching paint dry would be an event to keep you on the edge of your seat more than watching this boring coach and his Estelle Getty cotton hair punch in at his job and recite the same lines over and over again like a tour guide.

Then will become the worst part of the day: The part where someone asks him about Delhomme and he will write off this season as a struggle for him which won't factor one bit on his offseason evaluation and Jake will be expected to take snaps with the first team offense in minicamp. Matt Moore will shake his head in disbelief and demand a trade, and Fox will continue this ongoing cycle of mediocrity we've been married to since 2006.

Your beat writers will pump out the same garbage briefings with little to no value in conceptualization and cryptic information leaks from the "sources within the organization" will be published sporadically.

Every decision made will be met with raves and rants from your resident forum apple polishers and angst ridden shut ins respectively, and every day will consist of the same argument back and forth with no progress made and no enlightenment received either way. And most of the posters won't realize the treadmill we're running on and give up this lost cause that is trying to get the other side to see it your way.

And the minute I log in and see all this unfolding before my very eyes I'll know I've been sent to sports team hell.

    • Why? AI already taking jobs, running up power bills, drinking all the water and just bad for the environment but hey lest try to shoehorn another useless way to use it.
    • I'm going rogue in R1 but there's so much confusion around us. Last year, we were going Walker or Williams and caught folks off guard with TMac. The previous year we LOVED Legette and it was no surprise when his name was called. This year, I think we nail three areas that weren't totally addressed in FA.  R1 - Kayden McDonald Full disclosure, I want Thienemann here, but think he goes before 19. Some might see an "overdraft" but McDonald unlocks so many people on our D. Having a DT the caliber of McDonald let's Lloyd, Wallace and the newly drafted Hill flood the offensive backfield. Also opens up Moehrig and our EDGES to eat. Lastly, it also removes all the pressure on DB to be the primary facilitator in the trenches and A'Shawn will be missed. I don't care about Turk. McDonald is the only true DT worth of a R1 grade and Morgan seals up our trenches here w/ a kid from a blue blood school. R2 - Anthony Hill Jr *trade up*  I love JRod, but think a smart team takes him at the end of R1 (Seattle, NE w/ two d-minded coaches). Hill, Jr is a beast and lost in the shuffle with all the Styles/Allen/Rodriguez hype. He and Lloyd with DB and McDonald up front and flanked by Scourton/Phillips is nasty.  R3 - Hecht/Lew/Center du jour Let's stop the madness with ignoring this position in the draft. We need one and should start normalizing the capital invested in our OL with someone on a draft contract. He won't need to start day 1, but I think the right selection will push for starter reps. R4 - Bud Clark Not sure if he's here in R4 where we pick, but would fit the "type" of FS/roamer that we need opposite Moehrig and Ransom. Allows us to run 3-safety looks and really keep teams guessing with personnel packages. R5 - Kendrick Law The kind of WR we need. IDK if he's any different than Horn, Jr or Metchie but Law could be a dart throw that brings a deep threat to our WR corps I'm guessing one of the R5 picks is used to move up in R2 along with a '27 day 3 pick.   Post-draft, I sign Njoku to bring in a vet at TE. I'm also keeping my eyes open for pre-week 1 team cuts for a young CB that we could bring in to maybe plan for Mike Jack's departure next year. Flame away.... I know the McDonald pick will not make people happy.
