There is someone on the coaching or scouting staff who badly wanted CJ Stroud who is going to randomly get fired because he said “I told you so”

Pure speculation ahead. I know nothing, literally zero. Just venting.

If only someone had cared enough to say "No" a few months ago. If Tepper wants to run this corporate style, give it right back. You hear stories all the time of screaming matches at Microsoft when Gates and Balmer would be just going at it with others. Yell back at the f'er, challenge him, tell him no. Take the balls off his desk and say "these are mine now, I've forgotten more about football in the last 30 seconds then you've known in your last 4 lifetimes."

He will either fire you on the spot and you get to be a millionaire living with far less stress for the rest of your days, or he will respect you. As it stands now, doesn't feel like he respects anyone in the room enough to let them run a team.

If we had one Dan Cambell style coach in the entire organization, Stroud would be here. We don't. Tepper sucks but everyone else being their to fluff him and not challenge him is a problem too.

Wait a minute here with this Bryce would do better in Houston or any such re-projecting…. The projections are what got that guy here in the first place. Let’s stop with that and get on to what we Can see. Please.

He would still have a much less that elite arm, and DL would still be running him down from behind. He doesn’t get gifted new skills just because he goes somewhere else. He is still an average at best high school kid-sized player - in the land of the super fast giants.

And his processing? Project that, easy to do so far. Wrist band. A big whatever, it doesn’t seem to be really affecting the outcome of games at this point, yet. Not a huge factor.

So I mean, how he would do in Houston, I don’t know. Not a lot better I am pretty sure.

I can tell you, in Houston or wherever else, Stroud is the clear choice for the discerning NFL fantasy scout and I believe he would do better in Houston, and better here. Occam’s Razor for the win.

You don’t have to be better than the whole NFL you just have to be better than Bryce. Like the bear story.

I just went back to check, and Dalton Schultz , Nico Collins and Noah Brown have never had a 100 yard receiving game before this season.

Yet we know Thielen and Chark certainly have.

I don't say this to trash BY. I think he an CJ have different styles. I'm saying CJ's style would have suited Thielen, Chark and even TMJ better.

But we do have BY now and we would benefit by finding receivers who can thrive in the short game.

Yeah I wrote this after the Sunday games. Those guys that are “playmakers” never had a 100 yard game in the NFL before. Each tight end had been in the NFL for five seasons before this. Nico Collin’s has more yards and TDs through 8 games this season with Stroud than any complete season the two years prior. Tank Dell was like the 11th WR drafted. Yet he’s outperforming plenty of the ones drafted earlier ( and they drafted him because CJ asked for him ). My point is they are being enhanced by CJ Stroud.

Collins, Brown and Schultz are all on pace to have career years catching the ball and Tank Dell looks to be a good one.

Do we really believe by watching the actual games that all of those dudes would be having career years with Bryce?

Ironically if we still had DJ Moore, and Curtis Samuel, along with Thielen, I think Bryce would fair better because of their versatility.

That isn't a career path that someone purposefully gets fired when they're lower level, it could end your aspirations before they ever get going.

I could see McCown doing it though, as he'd be in demand anywhere, lots of teams wanted him before he came here.

That's almost the scary thing, if McCown leaves, it means he really didn't want Bryce, as it means he doesn't want to bet his career on Bryce.

Yes, he'd be putting up better stats with weapons like that over what we've given him, of course.

However, he still has glaring size and strength issues that I don't think he can ever fix, and frankly his decision making hasn't been great either and that was what he was supposed to be next level at.  I'll say that could just be him having unexpected rookie troubles and he can fix that, but he's not going to grow another 2-3 inches and his arm isn't going to double in strength at this stage.

He shouldn't have been the #1 overall pick, he isn't who you should take when you trade away what we did, it was a dumb gamble and decision that most average fans saw coming.

Again, he had ZERO elite physical abilities, and in fact I don't think you could even say he had any great physical abilities, he was about average to below average physically across the board.  They bet on his brain making him the biggest outlier in the history of the NFL at the QB position, it still baffles me.

I think I got it. Tepper, undersized, smart, outlier.

Fell for the ONE QB made in his image. Tepper loves him some Tep.

I think the only offensive coach I can think of that hasn't defended the Young draft pick publicly recently is Josh McCown.  He gave Bryce praise early on, like in OTAs and camp, but has been quiet since.  I think Stroud was his guy.  I think Stroud was Frank's guy.  Bryce was Tepper's guy as soon as he laid eyes on those S2 exam results.  Fitts was in arse saving mode and wanted what his boss wanted.

That seems pretty reasonable. McCown isn’t saying much in public regardless, I am thinking. It doesn’t necessarily indicate his choice. Though I do agree with the assumption about what it was.

And to be honest, as huge of an outlier as Young is, I have a hard time buying that any professional with his job at stake would have chosen Young over Stroud.

The odds were always long against Young and they have to at least be aware of that.

Johnny Football 2.0

But but he danced around a bunch in college and made a lot of guys without nfl level talent miss, yea that bullshit does not work in the NFL.

Tepper is a fuging clown and he needs to be called out. This staff is going to be fired sooner rather than later, so fug it.
