15 year season ticket holder... I won't be renewing

As former charter PSL owners back to pre-BOA days, my wife and I made the same decision following the last super bowl appeaance. Didn't take long to realize we didn't miss it in the least.

We don't watch and I'm around here as a long time member checking in occasionally.

Hurricane season tickets for the last 4 years- night and day difference in franchises and twice the fun.

Sweet. "Mr Burns, here's a 5 year contract and an IOU - you'll get paid when we sell the team, you'll be quids in".

Profit = revenue - expenses

Player salaries = expenses

They make enough to cover their expenses (including salaries) and make some profit. The profit just happens to be an amount that is literally analogous to pennies to a billionaire.

That isn't the case with many owners in the league who have little business interest outside their team. But for any new owners who are billionaires such as Tepper, the $30 million or so he makes a year off the Panthers to him is like a pocketful of change to us. It literally means nothing to him and he likely wouldn't even notice if it was gone.

You are forgetting NFL revenue sharing.  All 32 owners share in that piece of pay

1995 here. Family name on the statues.

dad and I decided today not to renew. There’s been talk of me taking them over but I don’t know how this team recovers moving forward with tepper here.

Spent my Sunday installing permanent Christmas lights for the wife. They look fantastic and I’m really excited about them. Didn’t watch a minute of the Panthers game. Damn shame, as my Sundays used to REVOLVE around Panthers games.

I remember you during the Cam era, you were unstoppable on here!

you're a long time fan as well... this ownership group has really alienated the long time fans who stuck through many bad seasons

I do chores on Sundays now and golf. Read about the Panthers game afterward. I won’t even spend the $400 for Sunday Ticket on YouTube to watch let alone what y’all spend. No excitement, no direction. Just a rudderless ship of sadness. Panthers are the worst team in professional sports and are only getting worse. Sad times indeed friend!

That's part of the "revenues" he mentioned.

I already included that in the $30 million. Green Bay is publicly owned, so has to share their profits. In 2022, they made $35 million. Because of revenue sharing, every team should make a very similar amount. So the Panthers should have made roughly the same or slightly less after revenue sharing.

This is what I hope the Panthers organization really understands.

This is not just shedding casual fans.  That process has already been completed from 2018-2022.

This is now a hemorrhaging of legit fans (i.e. PSL owners, etc.) who were the backbone of this fanbase both in terms of fan support but also financial support.

Apathy is a cancer for sports franchises, and this cancerous tumor of apathy has been metastasizing for 6+ years now throughout the Panthers fanbase....

I'm not saying this to be alarmist or pessimistic b/c that's not me, but this ain't an easy fix on-the-field or off-the-field at this point.

Richardson said in 2001 when he fired Siefert that the "energy has been sucked from this franchise."

That looks like a quaint bump-in-the-road compared to the straight abyss this franchise is currently wallowing around in...  there is no quick or easy fix...
