Tepper + Young

In short (no pun intended), Young was amazing at playing X-box

This is like hiring only Harvard grads because they are "smart". I can't tell you in my previous line of work how many Harvard grads I met that were book smart but street idiotic. Chris Weinke comes to mind here, great QB mind, horrible QB athlete, we basically drafted a noodle armed Weinke.

The S2 Eval requires taking the test on a specialized laptop or XBOX. Individual athletes can take The S2 Eval at one of our S2 Labs across the country. Additional labs will be opening soon.

Coaches, teams, and tournament and camp organizers can book the S2 Mobile Lab, which will bring an S2 testing facility to you – anywhere across the country.

Just now, Sean Payton's Vicodin said:

Bryce spoke well during dinners. Same thing happened with Rhule.

Yeah, no more dinners please. Tepper and company RAVED about the dinner conversations of both Rhule and Bryce. It was HUGE in the evaluation of both.

Folks, we're looking for football people. I'm not trying to figure out if I want you dating my daughter.

Complete opposite of Cam Newton. He was flashy with a funky hairstyle. Young is a choir boy, polite, and not loud.

Unfortunately, that's not enough to play and win in the NFL

Before Cam Newton lost his fashion mind he was also pretty square and had a lame fashion line at Belk's. His parent's ran a church

Cam was pretty square coming out of college, he was just basically built like Zeus though

You know what also isn't enough to win in the NFL? Having the worst collection of Oline, WRs, TEs, and RBs in the entire NFL. Bottom. Tier. Every position group. Not only is it impossible to win with but also impossible to play like a top 15 QB with that mess. Throw in the playcalling and you could have drafted Jesus Christ himself #1 overall and he'd look like a bust in this offense

As someone said, Tepper made his money by being good at math and letting the data tell him what to do.

I think his dream was to come into the NFL and revolutionize it by using analytical tools to get all the best players etc. Like a type of money ball.

The problem is the data just isn’t there at the college level.

I just don't think it's a data thing. There's no sure thing in the draft. Great college players that don't translate. Great athletes that don't translate. Guys who don't have great measurables but translate anyway. There's no foolproof blueprint to follow and that's why there's steals and busts every year.

Same thing with Reich. I knew once I heard that Reich had relayed to Tepper that he pretty much already interviewed his staff before getting the job, Reich was going to be the guy.

Not to mention that Reich had been apart of that Philly Super Bowl team. Tepper was smitten at first site.

Tepper shouldn’t be involved on the football side of things, but if he is, he’s gotta let his biases go, and go into these interviews and evaluation sessions with an open mind.

Hell, I like Bryce. He seems like a really good guy.

It was just very obvious watching him at Bama that his physical skill set was marginal at best at the NFL level.

Bryce doesn’t have that Alpha that Cam, Jake, Brady, Brees….I could go on and on. Stroud has that Alpha. Bryce reminds me of a weak puppy left out in the cold. There is nothing leader about this soft spoken baby. He ain’t it.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
