Fitty is a corporate cuck

he does what Tepper tells him

he gives the Nicole’s a list of his draft analysis by position and while she’s doing her nails with other yentas she gets to select who’s our #1 pick

when the time comes to swallow the sword he’ll gladly do it

in essence Fitty is the ideal company man

None of that can be confirmed but I tend to agree.  So the guy lacks a nut sack so still…goodbye

Yeah Rhule was the HC and was literally running him into the ground. If he wasn't traded he would have probably been ruined before this year even started.

You can pick so many things that make Fritterer look like the trash GM he is but this one example is another drop in the bucket.

CMC sucked his last two years here, we literally improved greatly when he left last year.  He’s great in the right system, he’s not an MVP or anything crazy like that

Lol

Rhule and company saved him by not playing him but when he was on the field he was the offense basically.  Stupid comment

We got an okay haul for CMC but definitely felt there should have been a first somewhere in there.

I agree though Fitty dropped the ball with CMC, definitely dropped the ball with the Rams/Burns rumored offer and then screwed up trading up for Bryce. Carolina could have probably kept DJ and still traded inside the top 5 and got Richardson.

The 2nd round pick went to Bryce, the 3rd and 4th rounder went to fuging DJ Johnson. That's not a haul

How was that a haul?  It was robbery any way you look at it

It certainly was based on what we turned the haul into. The 2nd was a minor part of the trade for #1 for Bryce. The 3rd and 4th we turned into DJ Johnson via trade up. We still have a 5th next year. That better be a Sam Howell level 5th rounder.

Exactly, I was always against trading CMC because his injuries were just bad luck things (like when the guy rolled up on his ankle as he was going into the end zone and gave him the high ankle sprain) and not a bunch of non contact injuries that pile up year after year (like Horn).  Plus, he 100% could have and would have played at the end of both seasons if we were in even the slightest contention, so he missed more games than necessary because there was no point in throwing him back out there to risk injury or hurting draft position in a lost season.

But even if we were to trade him, we get a TERRIBLE package in return.

I understand how the chart works and how all the picks added up to a first round value, but that's basically like saying you're good taking 100 $1 items and hoping you can sell every single one for the dollar and make the same $100 that you could have gotten in return from 1 item.

Trading CMC for anything less than a first, let alone a late 2nd rounder being the best pick in the trade, was beyond atrocious

You’re only MVP if your team is mediocre before you are on the roster and you win the Super Bowl once you join. If 49ers win Super Bowl, CMC will be MVP.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
