Best panther ever

Guys Smitty is a grade A prick. Yeah, for his causes he's the man, does this and that, but if you can't help him, want an interview....etc....he just a prick. On a typical day after camp/practice people want to interview him and he turns them down. He doesntwant to talk and comes across as simply just not liking people for the most part. How do I describe this?

Na'il Diggs, Minter, Rucker, or Jordan Gross would accomodate an interview anytime it is asked and give as much time as wanted for the interview. Peppers is a superstar who speaks rarely but is not an asshole when he speaks to the people. Delhomme like clockwork interviews on Mondays and answered questions as long as they were asked.

Smith......you never knew. somebody requested him everyday. if he gave an interview he made it known it was an inconvenience. you were bothering him. never mind the fans wanted to know what he thought. it was an inconvenience.

I honestly shake my head when I see kids wear his jersey because if they knew how he really was, I could think of 45 better role models on the team than him, but because he gets numbers he's the man.

I believe he's not the nicest guy cuz when I went to the AZ game, when Testaverde played, I got me & my lil brother in the side door to the visitors side to see if he could sign my bros jersey. The guard stopped us right front of him he was talking to someone when he was done he looked at me n my bro and just turned around and left. I was like wow not even a "not today guys" or anything. My lil bro was disappointed. On the field though he's the man so I can live with that.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one saying that any more. Thank you. And coming from you, who everyone likes on here, it means even more.

#89 hands down! not only for his great play. but also for his heart and pure determination to win! look no further, than the game against NY last season when he broke his forearm and still held on to the ball....this is the type of player i want to represent this franchise! yeah hes hit a couple of guys, and has a temper....but you never hear about him going out doing drugs, drinking & driving, or beating his wife. 89=best panther!

I have to agree wesely walls by far the best player ever in carolina or maybe John Kasey. but there have been so many great players since we became a team how can we ever know who the best ever was.with guys like kevin greene, julius peppers, biakubutuka, stephen davis, wesley walls, kris mangum, just so many...the only thing carolina never really had was a great quarterback....collins wasnt bad, good ole steve beaurlin(i know the spelling is wrong) wasn't the qb expected, rodney pete was a let down jake was good but just not enough, vinny testeverde was good just to old, david carr what an idiot, matt i think will be our best option the kid has spirit

How in the hell does Sam Mills deserve a statue over Steve Smith? People pull for the panthers because of Steve Smith. No one ever did for Sam Mills. Thousands each weekend come to see STEVE SMITH make sensational plays and fire everyone up. Cant say that about Sam Mills. Steve Smith IS the Carolina Panthers.

He deserves a statue far more than Sam Mills EVER HAS and I hope he retires a panther so he WILL get a statue.

End of Line.

That statement is so wrong on many levels.

Smitty, hands down, best damn athlete and playa to tear up the field in BOA. I do not question that at all.

But Sam Mills was and still is the benchmark for a PANTHER. He was a class act, a mentor, a great player, teammate, and coach who deserves to be in the HOF. To say he is not deserving of a statue in front of BOA is telling me that perhaps you weren't a fan in the early days of the franchise when Sam did get the accolades of fans and players alike.

Yeah, I am biased but I was a fan back in the day and Sam Mills is the overall Panther. He may not have been as talented as Smitty but he had heart and he was a class act on and OFF the field. He was a smallish guy who shouldn't have been in the NFL but when he played, he came to deliver his blows and he was smart. I can only dream of what it could have been for Sam to mentor Jon Beason.

Don't get me wrong, I love Smitty ON the field. I think he could stop being such an introvert and face the fact that he's loved and should embrace it; not fight it nor avoid it.

Another I consider as worthy for consideration is Peppers as he is a straight-up monster on the field when he's on point. For future consideration, Jon Beason and DeAngelo Williams.
