BINGO! I thought it was interesting that Russini leaked that “a number of coaches wanted him benched” but didn’t elaborate on who wanted him benched. I’m betting it was the coaches who were fired.

Same. Reich knew he was coaching for his job. It makes sense he'd want to bench Bryce. McCown was working with him everyday watching his mechanics get worse. It makes sense he'd want to bench Bryce to focus on mechanics without worrying about playing. Staley was watching his RBs struggle to find any room because opposing DCs were stacking the box because Bryce can't effectively throw downfield. It makes sense that he'd want to bench Bryce.

I’m torn on Duce as I think he was the one pushing for Sanders to play when Chuba was performing better by a mile.

If he pushed to sign Sanders he honestly deserved to get fired on merit.

My Eagles fan buddy told me there was nothing special about Sanders. He was just a JAG in a great running offense behind a great run blocking OL. Basically the RB version of Brock Purdy.

It's wild how often hardcore fans of teams can see things that the professionals overlook.

Many of us wanted Young benched after seeing Dalton run this same putrid offense in Seattle and made it look presentable. That was the most points the Panthers scored this year. Frank was in a no-win situation with being forced to play Young and also try to win.

Frank has a large loyal following of CLT area Christians, he used to preach with the Graham family. Same crowd stopped coming to games in recent years, and I’m sure he was hired in part to get them back out to the stadium. That failed miserably and now that crowd is probably never returning. Tepper is an arsonist.

    • Not to me. You win six games by 3 points but lose one by 30, you have a negative point differential but still have a winning record. Stats are flukey in football. That's why I don't rely on them for evaluation.  Again, my evaluation of this team is not that they're a great team or even a very good team. What I've seen doesn't bear that out. I see an average to potentially above average team that can beat bad teams and also has been able to hang with some good ones. Mind you, that's an improvement from previous seasons but it's still not where we want to be.  And no, I'm still not convinced we get to where we want to be with Bryce at the helm. But we have some challenging games coming up where he at least has a chance to prove me and other doubters wrong. Bottom Line: I doubt my overall assessment of the team is all that different from yours. We just arrive at our respective takes via differing paths.
    • We also took XL over McConkey. The Panthers always have an almost illogical hard on for project players that fulfill height/weight/speed parameters who may not have been the best players in college.  Although to be fair,  Tmac was consistently productive and that paid off. They didn't over think that pick and they benefited.  McConkey was insanely explosive at Georgia but the Panthers probably never even considered him with a below average height/weight/other measurable.
    • 4th and 3 inside the 15 and GT is gonna kick a FG? No way. You're down 4 scores. You gotta go for 7. Okay, they called a timeout. Surely they're going for it.
