I expect the vitriol and the poo - people hate when others don't agree with their opinions. I would ask yourself why YOU hate Tepper. Yeah we all hate losing but you can SEE he hates it as much as we do.  Seriously it doesn't make sense to me.

As far as omg what have I heard...employee, Tepper himself, his wife....lol....I have been a Panther fan probably longer than you have been alive. According to your profile you joined the Huddle in 2019. Tepper bought the team in what...2018?  You are more likely an employee then me.

Whatever. Hate away...just do some critical thinking on your own and stop being led by Media.

He has no fuging clue as to how to build a winning football team and neither of his lackeys know how to either in Nicole and Scott.

He refuses to admit he dosent know what he is doing and take a step back.

I know - unpopular opinion - but I'll take Tepper over half of the other owners.

Why do people hate him?

  • Being rich?
  • Getting rid of loved players?
  • Bad hiring choices?
  • Throwing water on people?
  • Meddles with real football people?

What did I miss...isn't that enough right?  Maybe I just see things different...heck I know I do. I still think Rhule got a bum deal so what do I know.

Being rich doesn't make you evil. Not that I would know but it seems that being rich gives you far less patience. Either way this has to be the worst reason for not liking him.

Helping/allowing/making GM's get rid of loved players....ok it SUCKS and it's a judgement call....but as much as I love CAM for example he was done when Watt (?) destroyed his shoulder. I can shrug and question the judgement but I'm not the one signing paychecks either.

Bad hires...yeah this is on him....but I think we have to give credit for him cutting his losses and owning his mistakes. Reich turned out to be wrong person for wrong time and he fixed his error. All we can do is fix our errors.  This doesn't make him a bad owner.

Throwing water...assaulting...bad judgement for sure. Do I hate him for it? I'll let the media crucify him....me? I LOVE the passion...hell yeah...damn right...talk crap right in my face and you roll the dice. All these fights we see in the stands? Thats people not letting opposing fans talk crap IMO - it ISN"T right and it DOESN"T excuse it...but I get it.  Tepper is my friggin hero now.

The 'meddles' is what kills me. Media LOVES this....and the sheep that read it follow it. If I was an owner you are DANGED right I am going to meddle...I'll call it be engaged in MY team...meddles...omg I still crack up every time I see someone saying this.  I would bet ALL of you guys - cause if there is ONE thing we all have in common is we are Panther fans! If you own the friggin team you are going to do what YOU want. Period. Would some of you listen to experts more?  Probably. I would....but it would be MY choice and Tepper has always echoed this.

So...yes...I know what awaits me.  Poo ahead. I really like our owner and I think we have great things ahead!

I can appreciate Tepper's strong desire to win. I still believe that he's going to do everything in his power to do that, but he's going to have to step out of his own pay.

That being said, I think that hiring Jim Harbaugh would go a long way towards showing that Tepper understands that he needs to get out of the way.

So if you went to your favorite restaurant one night and a sign on the door said 'under new management' and the experience from beginning to end was horrible, would you say the new management was lousy at their job?  Would you care how wealthy they are, or really any other thing about them personally?  No.  You would expect that person to run the business that made it your favorite restaurant and, at very worst, not screw it up!  Tepper sucks at running a NFL team.  He's a hedge fund guy and should stick to it.  This hobby since 2018 is a bit over his head.

As for me, yeah, this iteration has been here since 2019.  Originally registered back in '03 and have been on Panthers message boards since the late 90's.  But yeah, I'm a newbie, lol!

That is actually a great analogy - but we need to tweak it a little right?

Our favorite restaurant has sucked since new owner took over. We are really mad about this - but we do see the new owner has fired two managers already and we see him really mad now...I am frustrated and disappointed but I sure am not going to hate a guy I see trying his best!

He needs to stay out of the kitchen. Just look at the replies here of how many people think he should stick with what he knows - financial stuff. I don't really disagree - but I wonder how much his decisions have impacted Fitt, Rhule, and Reich? I mean at the end of the day NONE of us know who really wanted what talent. We speculate and all seem to believe that only Tepper wanted Bryce or whatever but we dont KNOW. We know Fitt has sucked at his choices - is that because he has been handcuffed by Tepper or because he sucks???  He is still here so maybe Tepper has realized he is to blame and not Fitt? I know he is in the kitchen getting in the chef's way but I'm still blaming the chef.

and no - I didn't think you were a noob with 10k posts...but getting tired of people thinking I am some kind of employee/PR/paid person instead of just a fan. I keep hoping one of the known reasonable people will reply like Lady Panther or even Zod - maybe a stretch as he once posted Tepper is the worst owner ever but...meh.

My man Tepper is a bad owner. I was scrolling through social media yesterday and came across a video of him calling out fans tweeting from their basement. This dude is just a clown to the highest of level.

If I can find the video I will post it later. His wife literally had to push him away from the camera. He looked drunk to me.

I have no idea why you trying to defend this man. He is just flat out bad!

    • It all sounds great. The only unknowns are injuries and how they will need to be addressed. Horn has a history as does the newly added Jaelen Phillips and Cooker has yet to play an entire season as well. And then there are the Ikey's - totally unexpecteded injuries that put a major wrench in your plans. I do think its a great plan though.
    • If we pay Bryce like a franchise QB we're completely and utterly buttfuged.
    • In my view, the realistic expectation for this team to compete will start 2027.  At that time, I think we could be looking at the following (this is HIGHLY speculative):   QB:  You know, Bryce.  I am not a fan, but they don't ask me.  But there is reason for hope--and here it is.  Bryce will be entering his prime.  Since we are likely to pay him, there will be changes that I include throughout this exercise--I realistically speculate on what they are going to do with Bryce and then I realistically speculate on what means in terms of the cap and other positions. Bryce HAS IMPROVED.  The idea is that if you give him more weapons and protection, that will continue.  His career:   At this rate, if his growth continues, by 2027 we should expect nearly 30 TDs and about 12 Interceptions and a Rating of about 98.  His completion percentage should settle at 65-66% or so.  If that happens, you can win with it. The following stats demonstrate how the Panthers will be able to afford it (and re-sign Ickey) My guess is they will require about $60m per year. This is why rookies who can play are important.  It also helps us see the blueprint.  You may disagree, but this is the cruel realities of the salary cap. Robert Hunt:  Cut post June 1 and save $19m.  Who do you replace him with?  Ickey. Tershawn Wharton:  Cutting him saves nearly $15m.  We should all hope to see Aaron Hall (UDFA) make the roster and play well.  Regardless, this is a position we would likely have to address in the next draft. Trevin Moehrig:  Cutting Moehrig as the starting SS saves this team $16.5m.   Ransom will be on year 3 of a cheap rookie deal and should be more than ready to take the reins.  their styles are similar.  Furthermore, FS Wheatley (R, 4th round) will be starting. Taylor Moton:  So much depends on his knee, but I have an idea that he can play another 3 years.  extending him could save the team about $5m per year.  Cutting him outright would save the team about $21m. In the most drastic situation, we have to cut Moton and the other three players mentioned.   We would need (in all likelihood) a starting DT and RT.  It is possible that the DE would be addressed, but Wharton's production (so far) could be equaled by a rookie.  Look for a cut free agent and a 2027 draft pick here.  If you cut Moton, you save $21m, and that would be the only big hole to fill.  Having Ickey at RG gives you some depth at T, and Ickey could be the guy.  T could be pick in the 2027 draft (first round), fwiw.  It saves you $21m while costing you $5m, for example. We get younger, creating a core of Freeling, Hecht, and the RT first rounder in 2027) along with Ekownu (second contract in the $15m range, and Lewis, whose contract would be in the $16m range if not extended.)  The OL cuts (Hunt, Moton) would save $40m.  The OL would get younger and still solid with veterans at G.   By cutting Wharton (no brainer if his play stays the same) and Moehrig (good player--but we have Ransom on a rookie contract who would not be that much of a drop off--if any) in addition to Hunt and Moton, we would save over $70m in cap room. We would be able to give Bryce bag  and we would have enough to re-sign Ickey (if the knee is not too risky) to a Guard contract (probably at a discount, coming off that injury).  Furthermore, we could add a RT in the draft (or a RG if Ickey moves to RT) and that would be the only large hole to fill. Correct my logic if you see issues-- On defense, in addition to the aforementioned, Scott ($2m contract) is out, replaced by a 4th round rookie contract. CB Jackson's contract ($7.8m) expires and he is (possibly) replaced by a rookie contract.  At Edge, patrick Jones II's $10m contract expires and he is likely a reserve, and his role is absorbed by Phillips, Scourton, Princely, and possible an UDFA like Isaiah Smith or a 2027 draft pick.   These productive developmental players over the past 2 drafts will pay huge dividends.  On paper, I see the team getting much younger and possibly better while cutting nearly $100m and reallocating that money to get more production.
