Dan Morgan should be seriously considered for GM

I agree with this

I felt like Fitterer thought, really thought, he was getting Russell Wilson 2.0

…a better version in his mind

Common theme too.  The LOB era has steadily influenced Fitterer.  It is why he drafted a LOB corner in the top 10 as his first move too.  No way that was Matt Rhule pulling his weight for that.

and Tepper came out singing what Fitterer pitched him IMO.  Just imagine what we can save if we draft Bryce and we can devote all of our extra resources to our LOB D.  That's how you win.  That was the mindset Tepper was sold by someone and it's just a ripoff of the old Seattle team

So was all that about Fitt walking into Frank’s office and him saying “it’s Bryce” a fabricated story by both?

I think Frank bent to the pressure in the building.  I think he knew where other people were at even though they 'supposedly' didn't know each other's pick.

That's the reason both Frank AND Josh got fired because neither were firmly in Young's camp.  I think it was well established that McCown was smitten with Stroud during the pre-draft process.

Yes I think this is true.

As much as I want to root for Dan Morgan, I think we need a full cleaned house.  Everyone has to go.  Sucks, but the stench has just been too thick and heavy this year.  Just not good enough period.

Agree. We had maybe a couple actually good moves out of dozens of draft picks, FAs and trades.

There’s so little good that I can’t understand why we would want to keep anyone. If Morgan wasn’t a former Panther, no one would be suggesting to keep him.

Sorry, but I really don’t believe the hype on these stories. You can find all kinds of like/love stories on every prospect. We had tons of good stuff to say about Young, Stroud and AR. Same with Pickett and friends the year before. We met and had positive articles on Pickett, Willis and Corral. Stroud called Nicole Mama Tepp so maybe Nicole was smitten by Stroud and it was Reich and Fitterer who vetoed her for Young.

95% of the stories about McCown were that he told CJ that they’d play a pickup game in Charlotte. Stroud loves sports including basketball so that’s literally small talk with CJ.

I’ll say it again, if Josh and Frank loved CJ so much then I’m glad they are gone. If after their many years in the NFL (as QBs no less) they can’t convince Fitterer and Tepper to go Stroud that’s sad.

I run ideas past my boss all the time, it doesn't mean he uses any of them.  It may be sad, but a billionaire and lackey can be stubborn.

Not sure I can sign on to this...

If we're staying in-house, I'd probably prefer Adrian Wilson.

But what I'd prefer most at this point is that we not stay in-house

Which tree do we pull from?  John Lynch, Brandon Beane?  I would think we would try to get someone from a tree that has been success for many years. We thought we had the right guy when we pulled Fitterer from Seattle.

My choices would be Will McClay, Joe Hortiz, Brandon Hunt or Ray Agnew If you really believe in the two-for-one idea with Ben Johnson (I don't).

I hope they don’t hire Samir Sulieman as new GM he is incompetent to be GM otherwise Brian Burns would always have a new contract since he’s the contract negotiator

I'm worried Tepper will go for an analytics guy because he thinks it's the wave of the future and it'll be another chance to show he's smarter than everyone else.

    • We will make it interesting. I think we'll be on a roll by then.
    • Especially glad there's no Thursday games. I hate them. They're dangerous. They really fug up a routine and unless you're team is coming off a bye, they play the game with little rest or prep.
    • Sober. Still feeling it. I really like how the schedule is laid out for us. Perfect for a new HC and rebuilding team. Aside from the Bengals, there aren't  any good teams before the bye. Chargers will be, but they're having to figure poo out just like we are and they'll be coming here for an early game. That one is a toss up. I like our defense against them. I think we'll give the Bengals a fight, but I wouldn't put money on us winning that one. But the saints can be swept. They're beat up and just don't have much going on. They'll be at the bottom of the division. I feel like we will split with the falcons and the bucs. There's nothing scary about the raiders or that washington team. Chicago is another toss up, but they aren't scary either....not yet anyways. We're getting them early in the season so I like our chances. I especially like our defense against a rookie QB. And the broncos....boring. Giants....again, boring. Looking at this, we've got a good defensive thing going on. I think the unit will be better this year a d we're in season 2 of Evero. I like us especially against rookie QBs, and we'll have at least 3 we're facing before the bye. We come in and play smash mouth football and just keep hitting (pounding) away and I think we're competitive. It's that schedule after the bye that scares me. Hopefully by that point they've built up a lot of confidence. You get a scrappy dawg that's got some confidence and a lot of fight in him and you've always got a shot. I think that's what we'll be this year. This year isn't about winning all the games. It's about building confidence and learning what we've got to do. But looking at that later schedule and it's not horrible. We've got the eagles and chiefs....that's scary, but then we've got the cardinals and cowboys at home...and it's the cowboys in December. When have they been scary in December? And we've got division games in there as well. I think we'll do ok. The more I look at it, the better I feel about it.
