I also think Ejiro likely is being overrated at this stage.

Agree 100%.  Seen it written by multiple guys in the know that the reason our d was ranked as high was the opposing teams didn't need to run the score up due to our pathetic offense.  They could very comfortably sit on a small lead.

I don't think any amount of "culture" is going to overcome the sheer talent deficit on this team, which is far and away the most pressing issue.  We need an influx of talent both from a player standpoint and a coaching standpoint, i.e. creative playcalling, scheming, etc., then maybe we can have a discussion on culture.

Harping on culture I think is reserved more for teams like the Eagles who have a stacked roster but are underachieving on the field.  How do you define "culture" anyways?  That seems like more of a nebulous buzzword I would expect during coachspeak or something.  Is it just like a locker room that holds each other accountable?

I disagree.   I get what youre saying but you want to build a new culture to start the rebuild.  You have a blank slate to get guys who buy in and enforce the culture.

I laughed when David Newton smirked after asking "Why did you come here after they fired 3 coaches"

I cringed, that was such a bait question for clicks.  What answer is he going to give to that.  Im all for asking the hard questions but that is a useless one.

Evero is a proven commodity with a track record for making above average defenses that play a lot better than the sum of their parts.  Hes perfect for us right now as we rebuild.  If you had a stacked defensive roster there are other defensive coordinators i would rather have because I personally dont love the scheme and prefer a more aggressive approach, but all that said Evero is a really good coach whos specialty is making chicken salad out of chicken poo.

Joe Person asked the hardest question to Dan Morgan.

Asked about how they keep using "alignment" and if that's so important because of what happened last year with the reports of the coaching staff being fractured and friction all the way up to ownership level.

    • Posting Just for laughs….or, maybe not    “The Carolina Panthers weren’t on the list of Deion Sanders’ preferred landing spots for his son Shedeur. But that didn’t stop CBS Sports writer Ryan Wilson from already projecting the University of Colorado star to the Queen City—and with next year’s No. 1 overall pick, no less. Wilson, in his “way-too-early” 2025 mock draft, explains that a new quarterback may be on the horizon if the Panthers finish with the league’s worst record for the second year in a row: If nothing else, using the betting odds means that, for the third straight year, the Panthers have the No. 1 overall pick. Hopefully first-year coach Dave Canales can get the most out of Bryce Young, but if that doesn’t happen … you’d have to imagine quarterback at No. 1 (for the second time in three drafts for Carolina) will be a talking point. And with that pick, Wilson sends Sanders to Carolina: Shedeur Sanders made huge strides in his first year as an FBS QB and he’ll be in the conversation with several other players to be the first quarterback drafted. Sanders completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions in 2023”
    • If Young can't at least play average, then little QBs of the present and future might as well kiss dreams of being in the NFL "goodbye." Sure, there may be what people consider outliers,  like Russ and Murray, but Wilson and Murray aren't exactly little guys. Young is the test case.
    • I really liked zona's draft too. It's a fair snap shot at a entertainment grade..   edit- raiders imo had a much better draft than the expert grade. I see lots of BPA and need filled.
