Non-exclusive tag, let him entertain offers from other teams to set the market and then we match or get two 1st round picks in exchange.

Imagine if a team actually offered 2 firsts for Brian fuging Burns any GM in NFL history would snatch that up so quick....oh wait.....

Expect to hear something today.  I doubt they drag this out to 3:59:59 pm tomorrow.  I imagine they are in a last bid to get something worked out today and if negotiations fail--if they haven't already, then Burns will get slapped with the tag. Then next week when FA opens, work the phones.

A thought...could we just let him walk?  I know that was a poll question, but kinda tongue-in-cheek.  I didn't honestly think it was a viable option.  Most of the tag targets around the League have already been addressed.  However, even though talks have stalled, no word from the Panthers' camp yet.

    • lol this is hilarious after those stays with this roster man what…..you gotta be joking right so you don’t see little man miss about 2-3 easy big plays a game? Man IMO Canales would look like a hellava offensive coach if he had a QB who could deliver on time and accurate passes all around the field. The numbers would look good if he’d could actually get the ball to the open wrs on this team. We have talent all over the field ilthose numbers should be much much better if you can’t see it you’re scared to admit the truth. He consistently has missed WRs who should either have 30+ yards or TDs added to their resume this season.  He may get better but since he hasn’t lived in the gym yet and formed and developed his NFL body his weak arm hasn’t gotten stronger the competition has gotten faster and better. It worked it college it doesn’t work well in the pros. I’ve been furious with Bryce for that reason he had to see he doesn’t have all them physical tools as other QBs so he should bulk up to his maximum ability to add a little muscle to his frame which could definitely help his throws get there a little better. You don’t remember Horn Jr having to slow down and turn around a couple weeks ago because the ball took forever to get to him while he waited wide open that ball hits him in stride he’s able to put that defender in the got dam blender and score. It’s just another example of Bryce’s arm  not being able to zip passes to his wide receivers but with all that said it’s clear he’s not the guy. He a couple ticks below average this roster is ready to put up points shut down opponents were just not able to run the full playbook bc lil man can’t sling it all around the yard it’s clear as day.
    • I have to admit, I was on the Trey Lance wagon.  While he's obviously not ever going to be a franchise QB1, I'm still curious about him as a bridge QB/QB2.
    • They're similar in that rushing the passer really isn't their forte. They can impact the pass rush by collapsing the pocket and opening up opportunities for others and sometimes get the sack themselves but sacking the QB isn't what either does best. Jenkins also had the benefit of having MUCH better edge rushers who prevented the QB from escaping the pocket to the outside. Rookie Peppers had 12 sacks on one side and Rucker had 10 on the other. I honestly put them roughly equal as pass rushers. They're not sack monsters but they definitely impact the QB.
