REPORT: Panthers prioritizing OG in free agency

Yeah, our IOL is a fuging mess. It's somehow worse than our OT's.

It would be a little shocking to see us spend that kind of coin on an OG but I would understand if they are perhaps going all in on Ekwonu one last time at LT. Perhaps having an elite LG would be a big help.

Either way, we have to upgrade that OL. That one of the biggest of the offseason.

Christensen is likely to move to RT after Moton, assuming we re-sign him and we can for cheap. As of now, he's the swing tackle.  We probably cut Moton after this season.  Cap savings are too great and good RTs aren't too hard to find at a much cheaper price tag.  I'd rather go ahead and extend BC now and get out ahead of this.

All that being said, addressing guard...LG in particular, should be paramount because no matter what happens to BC, he's not the LG of the future.

it's a good draft for RT.  we might pick one up and let him learn for a year behind Moton.

I'd rather draft a RG to learn behind Corbett for a season.  Assuming he's healthy, his cap figure is too great to cut this season.  Corbett is gone when the season is over.  Moton theoretically could play for us in 2025 if we want him at that cap figure.  If that's the case, we just drafted a guy that won't see the field much until 2026.

I am not sure really where BC fits. Honestly, probably as a starter in a zone blocking scheme, which doesn't fit with what we have built the rest of the OL for here.

Ideally, he's a top tier backup if we had built our line properly.

    • I've met his father a few times, great human. At one point in time for around 20 years no mortal man could beat him left armed on a table. He just had superhuman strength and he never lied about being juiced up. He's very smart and very entertaining. Hes got a YouTube that focuses on arm wrestling. There's tons of other older videos of him just smashing arms. He had unreal speed for a ultra heavyweight and just one of the best to ever pull. One short story- He did some work for cross fit and they flew him out to Australia. Well they gave him some 20 year old smoke show to be his guide and helper, after he realized this he went to the people in charge and asked for a different intern. He's one of the rare men that never cheated on wife and didn't want to start, him telling it was too funny. He's got a great story teller vibe and is great on MCs duties if you are a USA fan.  https://www.youtube.com/@TravisBagentUnfiltered
    • You can force feed the ball to all sorts of old vets in the slot and they will get 50 yards on a losing team.  People are confusing stats with being good.   Stats often lie.   AT isn’t good.  AT is a backup role player we choose to start and over target.  Renfow realistically projects to be what AT should have been here’s A random role player you see on very select downs.  Ricky Prohel.
    • Yeap. Parsons is a great player, but he doesn't want to be there and that is one heck of an offer.  Cowboys could use those picks to build a elite team.
