Dang I forgot about KK.

Miss the hell out of pre-2nd contract KK. He was one of first game changing pass rushing DTs. He was great against the run too, just a force.

KK was a bum without Star next to him. Nippleshorts fuged that entire situation up so badly when he drafted Vernon Bustler.

He was a BPA type too..this board was calling it a terrible pick at the time because we got Star in the 1st...huddle collective strikes again.

Yep I believe he was a little "old" for the draft pool and Dave sold him as " He was the best pass rushing DT in the draft". There was a huge hole/S at DT and it turned out great for those 4 years with him and star.

I did think it was a great beginning for Daves panthers GM career. I was like " this guy got balls to go against the norm ". Then his ego got the best of him. Klein was another " I don't care, he was BPA pick ". That was correct too and hell I think he was still playing last year...

TMJ and Mingo being the only second rounders left on our roster really inspires a ton of confidence

Robert Hunt was taken 39th, by Miami. Here’s the funny part, we took YGM 1 pick before Hunt. Thank goodness Marty and the. Fitterer didn’t want to fix our OL until it got so bad we were forced to take Iky 6th overall and sign people it looks like we are already replacing after two years.

besides Ryan kalil and Taylor Moton, what 2nd round pick has made an impact and resigned into a second contract in the last 20 years?

That's been 1 of our major problems.  That has the change or nothing will change.

    • This is a good take it really is to the point dc needs to let the world see the real byoung b/c right now everyone in the media and tepper has had blinders on when it comes to young.  Its hard to even know where the panthers are at skill player wise with such horrible qb play.  I doubt it but legette may be a probowl wr he just cant throw the ball and catch it.  I am just so sick of every excuse in the book for byoung.  LIstened to a podcast and the guy was going over how many different options byoung had on the int and all of them were ok except for the one where he threw an int.  He said the play could be run by a hs qb and they would typically make a good decision.
    • I certainly have my complaints about Canales but I'm not ready to fire him yet for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, Tepper has made this one of the least appealing jobs in the league. Morgan and Canales are here to begin with in large part because guys higher on the wish list take other jobs. If you fire Canales you're gonna end up replacing him with another third tier candidate who wasn't being seriously considered by other teams with openings. That's just the reality of the situation right now as far as I can tell. Secondly, despite plenty of room for critique, we are 6-6 despite the worst QB play in the league. That's really damn hard to pull off in the modern NFL. Especially when your D isn't dominant. Our D is greatly improved but is still a slightly below average overall defense ranking 18th in yards per game allowed and 20th in points allowed. Going 6-6 with atrocious QB play and slightly below average defensive play is pretty damn impressive. Even more impressive when you also factor in that we're in the red on turnovers differential at -3. When you combine league worst QB play with slightly below average D and negative turnover differential honestly you'd expect to be in play for the #1 overall pick, not 6-6 and having just played a game that a win would have you leading the division. So yeah, even though I'm far from sold I advocate for patience with Canales for the time being. If you ask me if I'm bringing him back next year, I'm a yes barring a catastrophic meltdown down the stretch which admittedly is very much a possibility.
