Could this tight end be one of the 2nd round picks...

I keep hearing Ben Sinnott's name. Wouldn't be shocked to see him taken with 39. Apparently teams are a lot higher on him than the media realizes.

If we take a TE before round 4, Morgan needs to be fired.   This TE class sucks.  Value only comes into play on day 3.  Yes, I realize Brock Bowers is in the draft class, but he's a unicorn.

Definitely  tested well and blocks and catches. I could see him or Sanders turning into Kittle.

Brock is legit but multiple reports have Sanders testing well and showing massive upside. Him and Kinnot rind me of Kittle coming out and wouldn't be surprised  that he  turns out ok. A bunch of times the Texas oline was leaking and he learned to stop on routes early and when the qb would scramble, he'd make himself available. Working your way back to the qb is a skillset that's needed. I wouldn't be opposed but could see multiple scenarios  in  round 2. I could see  olb and center being bpa possibly but we definitely  have to get pretty weapons on offense.

I'll pass.  We've had enough 'meh' TEs around here lately.  If we take one, it had better be later on.  There's too many more solid position groups to pick from before taking a stab at a weak, VERY weak, TE group.   Again, day 3 guys are flyer picks, so try one there.  WR, CB, OL and Edge are deeper and would make MUCH more sense than reaching for TE before day 3.

While I agree with your premise of an elite TE making the offense so much easier, the chances of a drafted tight end being elite are extremely low. This team has too many holes to be gambling on a 2nd round tight end. Any tight end that isn't elite can be had in free agency for cheap.

Name Sam La Porta ring a bell…

It's crazy  you mentioned him because  I had read an article  about Bowers and Sanders watching tape on La Porta and a bunch of the same pros an cons match up.

Listening to NFL Radio on Sirus this morning was s interesting

Charlie Weiss and the other commentators talking about the WRs and some  TEs came up

Weiss  said the following

1  almost all pro offense run  3 wr sets most of the time

2  that means the TE becomes tremendously important

3  because  almost   all offense is inside out not outside in

4  he absolutely loves Ladd   True slot wr   Said he is a star  …great route  runner  does not drop the ball …always open

5  he does not have  leggett as first rd  thinks he is a good player  didnt say much about him  said he has watched him as he got his masters from South Carolina so he watches the gamecocks play

Lot more but id not be surprised on a TE earlier than the Huddle’s masses think

I like him if he is in the 3rd round. Not in the 2nd unless we trading down to the back end....

Agreed. If after this draft we’ve taken a TE in the 2nd and last year was our WR in the 2nd, it will prove we haven’t learned anything.

Last year was the draft to go TE in the 2nd and this year is the draft to go WR in the 2nd.
