The OL was a huge part of Scott Fitterer's failure as GM and the first thing Dan Morgan does is play Russian roulette with the most integral position of the oline. Your Carolina Panthers ladies and gentlemen lol.

Looks like their super expensive LG might be joining the list of big time Panthers' FA busts too.

Eku Leota up

  • Was a little rainy and cool ("October cool"). Was nice playing in that weather since you don't have to deal with the weather and playing under the lights was cool since they don't have any evening games this season.
  • Good to be out in the hot weather to get ready for 1pm games and this coming Saturday. It's not like Wofford. This is nice compared to Wofford.
  • Being in the system for a year allows him to communicate better and play faster. Coaches have been fixing up his mistakes as well so he has a year of that under his belt.
  • Working on better eyes. Looking at his keys which will help him play faster.
  • His goal is to always play hard, be consistent and improve. Stack days.

K'Lavon Chaisson last out today

  • Camp has been great.
  • System isn't too different from other he's been in. 3-4 OLBs are asked to make plays and he's excited to compete.
  • Main goal is to get better every day and to make the team better.
  • Great opportunity to get a fresh start. Appreciates Dave and he's excited to be a part of it. Every day they step on the field is an opportunity.
  • Wants to be able to compete and that's his ultimate goal + what he was looking forward to most.
  • Thinks that there's a lot of similarities with him in the team. He's a greedy guy and wants to go out and get it. Everything looked like a perfect fit for him and the team.
  • Unfortunately has been on the sideline with injuries, but he's eager to get out and take as many reps as he can.
  • Didn't want to detail his routine, but it works for him and will help the team get better. Has done it for awhile.
  • 3-4 in general fits an OLB. The ability to touch the field is all he needs.
  • Talking a lot to Clowney. Following how he takes care of himself on and off the field and listening for whatever nuggets he might pass on to him.
  • Have been occupied with camp but he's sure Clowney will put him on to some of his favorite food spots in the area.

I thought the ball was where it needed to be--hard to get a good look, but if it is not toward the sideline it is picked off.

When he gets set to throw the WR and DB aren't even in the frame. He's throwing to a spot but he's putting it too far out. He made a habit out of this last season too. You can find highlights of receivers contorting themselves trying to haul the passes in. Bryce Young simply has iffy deep ball accuracy and always has. There just hasn't been any improvement.

So a light practice after an awful performance Thursday and joint practices coming up with the Jets?

No wonder players like Dave

lol this is funny but realistically we’ll be practicing hard the next 2-3 practices joint practices are highly competitive. I’m really watching how Bryce and DJ look vs jets db’s and our O-line vs that elite D-line

Johnson has his guy beat. The ball should’ve been placed over inside shoulder in stride but per usual Bryce throws outside and forces Johnson to try and make some spectacular diving toe tapping catch

Bryce struggles to keep these balls inbounds because he needs to throw the ball on such a low trajectory because he lacks arm strength

    • I mean, this year we should've easily been a playoff team in my opinion. We should have easily had two or three more wins--at least one--had not Bryce crapped the bed. But let's be serious about human nature and what we know about our FO. I wouldn't bet the farm that Bryce will be anything but the defacto starter in 2026, because (inconsistent though it was) we have exceeded expectations this year, and some in the FO probably believe, rightly or wrongly, that Bryce is at the center of that. You know, piece of bread seems like a meal if all you've had is a cracker. That being said, Bryce has shown plenty of inconsistency if not a downright pattern of flaws. He's a third year QB, and some, if not most, of his metrics aren't pretty. It could be argued that he should be further along (for me it's not really arguable). So, hopefully the decision makers will acquire a couple of plan Bs. I would hate it and love it if we identified "our guy" in the draft, and that it was somehow achievable to acquire him with a couple of high draft picks or even less. But we already pulled the trigger on Bryce with arguably awful results, so that's got to make the decision makers a little skittish to repeat a mistake that should be still fresh on everyone's mind. That being said, I think that it's more likely that we acquire a player like Mac Jones, Malik Willis or Trey Lance in free agency, and also target a day two or day three developmental pick in the draft with some real upside. That pick for would be Drew Allar who should slide to day three (I'm thinking). I think that this is more realistic than them releasing Bryce from his starter's role from the get-go, or someone just flat out playing themselves definitely into the starter's role by the time the season begins.  Now, again, if we can find "our guy" that changes the narrative and is expected to be the starter from day one, I'd be excited, if not downright ecstatic, but I don't think that's a realistic expectation.  Getting back to the team in general, If we don't make some improvements, including QB, I wouldn't bet that we'd necessarily be a playoff team next year, because, the rest of the NFCS is likely to improve next year. I don't expect that teams in our division will be necessarily able to "backdoor" themselves into the playoffs next season. So we're going to have to hit on at least a couple of picks, get healthy along the line, and fundamentally change the way we're calling plays because lightning probably isn't striking twice. I'm hoping that we'll have a real breakthrough season by 2028, because this season and next season aren't likely to be it because removing ball-and-chains ain't easy unless you got the key, and It's still gonna take some time to find it.
