If he can prove he can hold onto the ball he will be used. At this point though Sutton has been the better ball carrier.

I think using him as a WR is a great idea. Especially since Sutton filled a spot. I would like to see us use Goodson more. Speed in the slot will create alot of pressure. Smith, Jarrett, Goodson...interesting combo. Could be a flop or could really create alot of problems for defenses.

It's not that absurd of an idea. I remember him fumbling a few times but I also him making an amazing catch off of one of Delhome's horrible passes.

He doesn't have to switch positions. He'll just be used in specific packages.

Goodson's playing time was limited due to fumbles. He lost the backup position to Sutton because of it. He has potential but will to take better care of the ball as once he gets thats moniker defenses will work harder to make him fumble.

To me he is a cheaper Golden Tate that we don't have to draft. Tate was a RB when he got to ND. They are very similar build and speed and Goodsen has shown he can make some good catches. I think if they work him in enough to get some solid reps it could start to pay dividends come around time for the playoff hunt.

I'm telling you guys we most likely will not draft a WR 1st if we stay at 48 (unless a guy falls). I don't see either Price or Gilyard being BPA.

Rashard Mendenhall was a bad fumbler his rookie year. He worked hard in the offseason and became the number 1 back for the Steelers. Fumbling can be fixed by the coaching. That being said, this kid is the PERFECT solution at slot receiver. He has great hands, he is shifty, has good size and can pull away if he gets loose. The only thing he needs is reps.

seeing the field as a receiver is better than not seeing the field as an RB. if he wants to play, he'll play where he's asked.

goodson's main problem was maturity. hopefully he's gained a good bit sitting on the sidelines. the work ethic was good so he's not like jarrett, but there were just some other things that he needed to work on but he's still young.

i feel good about our RB situation being

williams: RB

stewart: RB

sutton: RB/FB

goodson: RB/WR

fiammetta: FB

something that fiz(?) has been talking about for a while and that i agree with is using rosario as a WR instead of a TE. that makes a lot of sense to me. i'd like to see barnidge used in the passing game a lot more as well but rosario just needs to be moved to WR. that might be the best thing for goodson as well but i see him as a kevin faulk RB...always have.

i agree with you in the fact that it might be a problem for the other team. we all know what smitty can do. jarrett can be a monster posession WR. i think he has a ton of talent that could really help the team out. you all saw that sideline catch in the last saints game. goodson could be like a panther model of reggie bush. if we could just draft one more WR we should be good in my opinion

Indeed. Change his position to WR and he gains a few points, or only loses a few. I forget.

With the limited number of draft choices that may be just their plan. If we don't see a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round don't be surprised to see Goodson line up in the slot vice the backfield.
