Every couple years SC manages to find a way to narrowly beat Clemson.  That was a good game to watch.  You could feel that outcome coming though at the end early on.

Came down to QBs late.  Sellers one man showed it.  Cade crumbled and panicked.    Ready for the end of the Cade era.  Hope that was the end of it.

Cade is a junior. I’m fairly certain he won’t declare and will return his senior year.

There's a lot of negative QB recruiting ammo for opposing coaches after DJU and Cade.

Maybe.  That cuts both ways.

a high level recuit knows Dabo isn’t going to treat him like a rental to make him look good or go.   Which is college football now.   Dabo still  recruiting someone that wants to go to Clemson 4 years and be part of what they do.  He still recruiting Christian parents.

there is a place for what Dabo does.  It just means instead of ever flirting with top 4 status like the ole days…..it’s being 15ish good looking for that auto bid

That's where I want UNC to go in basketball. Let duke and Kentucky have all the one and done types. Give me all the 3-4 year top 50 type guys who project as great college players that the NBA won't be clamoring for. With the NIL money you can make somewhere like UNC there's no reason to jump early to be a 2nd round pick. You're better off on Chapel Hill.

Well the review determined other wise, and the play was call down because of Cades knee not the running back. The RB was fumbling around that ball till he hit the ground, thus it popped up so easily.

To me the call was always about Mafah.  Not Cade.  Mafah was ruled down while making the pitch to the WR.   The ball didn’t just pop up.  Mafah was making the lateral to the WR (which was the play).   So they call him downed while he attempted to pitch the end around.    They whistled it dead.  Then Clemson ran another play.  Then the review.

call on the field was down.  Whistled dead.  Then they ran another play.  I hate a huge % of overturns in college and pros.  To me they never clear the bar required which is supposed to be huge.  To me the call said Mafah caught the ball on the ground and Wesco caught it on the sideline…and there wasn’t the evidence needed to overturn them.

you even got SEC guys like David Pollack calling that Mafah one criminal.  So it ain’t just the Clemson homer

Nah man, that was a backwards pitch on a play Cade tossed the ball after tripping on his on guy and Mafah couldn't get possession of the toss. The fact he couldn't control the ball to the ground and it popped so easy tells you he didn't have possession. We will agree to disagree.

Yes. Cade 100% tripped and pitched it to Mafah.  That’s not in dispute.  We agree on that.

Mafah got the ball, fell to the ground and then attempted to complete the rest of the play….which was the lateral to the WR on the end around.  You are calling the lateral from Mafah to the end around WR the ball popping up.   It was whistled dead.   Then they ran another play.

the review then awarded the ball to SC after we ran another play for what happened after a play was whistled dead.   How does that part work lol?  How do you recover a ball if a play was whistled dead for a downed player prior to a recovery?

I think the refs screwed Clemson twice.   That’s not why they lost.  Please don’t think that is my argument.   They lost because Cade chocked and panicked at the end.  They lost because Sellers should have been put on the ground for a loss countless times and they didn’t.  They lost because our over loyal Dabo wouldn’t bench his favorite hurt RB.    Clemson lost for lots of reasons. SC deserved to win.  Those calls were bad though IMO.  They exist in every game.

Great game overall man, it looks like the rivalry will atleast be more exciting over the next few years.

2 of the 3 last 3 have been fun watches.   I always prefer SC to be good.

I do wonder if some of that talent in SC gets sniped.  Quiet day for the DL of Carolina but I wouldn’t  be surprised if someone doesn’t try to steal that freshman DE with a big ole check

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
