At first I thought okay they are cutting. Now I think it is more likely to be an injured thing though. Watch them have just cut someone while I'm typing...

Even though they do apparently have another TE on the practice squad I had forgotten about. Maybe he'll replace the practice squad dude in due time.

    • you are partially right.  We lack the key playmaker.  It's the QB.  Instead you fixate on why everyone can't lift up the guy who is supposed to lift them up.  RBs would make more guys miss if Bryce put the ball on them at the right time.  Those get pointed out often live during the game.  But he is late with most things.  So the advantageous windows close and they become dump offs.  Bryce is part of why the screen game never sets up right.  QBs that want to attack downfield do.  QBs that need Tyreek Hill.....aren't QBs that attack downfield.  See Jake.  You could give Jake Delhomme one big body possession WR.  He was a downfield attacking QB.  And so he would go to town downfield with just Moose as his WR.  We saw that play out as well.
    • He also hasn't had a good front 7 pass rush three of those years (and the 2022 Broncos pass rush wasn't particularly talented either outside of Chubb). Cover 3 zone (Evero's primary zone) usually leaves underneath routes open, so QBs will usually have that checkdown option with the DC's hope that somebody then steps up to make the tackle for a short gain. Think of our Seahawks game - while the Seahawks didn't get a ton of sacks, Bryce got baited into the checkdown and the Seahawks wrapped up and tackled the RB/TE almost immediately every time for practically no gain. Unfortunately for us, half of our starters are rocking missed tackles rates that makes me want to vomit, so those 2 yard checkdowns to RBs turn into 10 yards in a hurry.
    • The '26 draft class is loaded with upperclassmen QBs.  I would definitely take a flyer after the second round.  This is where you throw a dart blindfolded at a dartboard and hope you miraculously hit the bullseye.  At best stumble upon a Brock Purdy, at worst you waste a day two or three draft pick.  Somewhere in the middle the team finds their Andy Dalton of the future.
