Are we now actively pulling for David Tepper to fail?

AFA wanting him to fail, I think the only real way out of it might be if his marriage failed and the wife went after the team in the settlement, and things got so bad he just said fug it take the team leave me alone. I'll just buy another team.

This is an mildly interesting story, if anyone remembers Georgia Frontiere - who inherited majority stake in the Rams. There isn't a parallel because she inherited the team.

I know his pride is taking a beating. He's very unaccustomed to getting beat down and embarrassed and not being able to just bully his way through any problem with his wealth. Financially he's obviously doing fantastically but he really does want to win and he's really trying and that's why it's gotta be embarrassing.

A lot of us have probably seen this in our jobs. I plied my trade for a long time and at one point worked some with a rich amateur. He thought because he whipped ass to make his money in business wheeling and dealing that he knew my business that I had been doing for probably well over 15 years at the time. Wrong.

It was embarrassing and eventually I told him to lose my number. But that's the way things work too often.

Actually he never learned but it was talent and skill based occupation and all the love you might have for it doesn't help much if you aren't able to perform to whatever level.

Tepper does not have that hurdle, he only has to know he doesn't know. That's a challenge too though, as we have seen. I really am hoping he is being shown the light. He has been in trial and error school now for long enough.

I don't think the meetings, or wanting them, is a problem in itself.

It is more like him ignoring his limitations next to professionals, and using his power to feed his ego in those meetings that would wrench things up.

Why is the turnover in the executive positions horrendous? Maybe the worst ever in the NFL. Had one dude who was in some of the top positions in the NFL and lasted like 6 months here. I know JP Morgan guys said he was an absolute piece of poo to work with. Think about that. Top guys on Wall Street, literal demons who probably traffic children said they couldn't stand him. Turnover in Tepper Sports if absolutely awful. If someone can explain the turnover that would be cool. Why does everyone leave a great job? I always thought the opposite happened.

I don't doubt any of that. If you own the business, whether or not you are an asshole is secondary though, inside that business.

We can't all quit like his employees though. Well, we could, and I'm not sure I won't. He is on his last chance for me, life is too short to 'keep pounding' my head into the wall while hoping it will magically change.

    • seems like he wasn't quite himself when he came back from landing on his head. like his confidence wasn't 100%. hoping it is, though.  we've got a lot of potential here. i really like our TE room right now. RB corps is stacked. WR doesn't look too shabby either. and we are going to see some good things from BY too.
    • It's been mentioned in this thread, yet many are glossing over it... This WR group has a ton of potential. TMAC, XL and Coker, and maybe even Horn as the speed guy will get a ton of snaps in this offense. The reality is that they are all really unproven. Hopefully they're ascending, but we don't know if XL and Coker are maxed out based on last season. TMAC and Horn are ROOKIES. So the only "proven vets" are Thielen, Moore and Renfrow. Not exactly top of the league. Biggest issue being a lack of speed to take the top off of defenses. Say what you want about Tedd Ginn but he was probably the most important receiver on the team in 2015.
    • That would basically make him a top 10 quarterback based on last year's stats if you break down each QB metric, complied and ranked them. I get the premise of the question--why should we get rid of Bryce after the season if the team still sucks, but it's not Bryce's fault?  Fair enough. If Bryce balls out and for whatever reason we still can't get over the hump, he shouldn't catch all the grief for it.  However, I will caveat that while stats can add layers of paint to a canvass, they do not always paint the whole picture.  So while those hypothetical stats are pretty darn good, if we are inept in the red zone settling for FGs or he's coughing up the ball on sacks or completing layup passes that doesn't get us first downs, then statistically he can have a really good season, but it could leave us on the short end of the scoreboard some games.
