adam schfter is now saying the Ravens are in line for a 3rd compensatory pick if Johnson walks.  Which I guess makes sense and is the cherry on top for this poo trade

Yeah they can get a 6th or 7th but that’s irrelevant to us. We are adding a bunch of players in FA to help this sad roster so we weren’t getting a comp pick.

Where you see that? We need draft picks and a QB, assuming we roll with some journeyman at 15-20 next year we will have 20-25M in cap to spend.

I could be reading it wrong but it looks like we are bottom half on cap space as of today.  Sure some things can be moved but I doubt we want to start giving out long term high end deals.  At least I hope so.  Just ride this out until 26 and then things completely open up

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

I'd say it's legit, point being that we weren't going to get any great offers.

Likely the whole league sees us as a poverty franchise, and they treat us accordingly.

Or they know Diontae is a headache and not worth giving up anything of real value

we had teams on the hook 3 weeks ago per j jones.  You think there was a worse offer on the table?  Dude this is totally being leaked by the panthers as evidenced of media members and players saying he wasnt a problem

this is classic CYA by the team.  If you think a swap of a 5th and a 6th is the best offer then I am not even sure what to tell you all things considered.  Hopkins is 3 years older and injury prone, D adams has been known to be a malcontent and yet..................

Word was out. Left behind on a road trip, after the previous week that everyone saw. And fwiw Diontae caused that by acting out. Talking his talk.

Looked like if they had to they would have cut him outright. And if you are releasing a player you are saying he has no value to you.

edit: it's on him, the low return. He put things out there. On the field, in the postgame comments. I bet that lil act cost him some money when he wants that next deal.

    • I'm not sure that in a fair QB competition that Young would beat out Jones.
    • That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high. Richardson's misses looked like they were maybe fixable with working on his footwork, release, etc. Josh Allen's misses looked like "ain't no way you're fixin' that poo, dude has a cannon equipped with no sights". LOL Huge props to the Bills for evaluating him as fixable and indeed fixing him.
    • A lot can change over the next week, but here is my best 53-man roster (note: I'm just basing this on guys on the 90 man roster currently). Obviously there could be trades/ waiver claims/ FA signings.   Offense (25) QB (2): Bryce Young, Andy Dalton RB (3): Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, Trevor Etienne TE (4): Tommy Tremble, JT Sanders, Mitchell Evans, James Mitchell WR (7): Tetoria McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Theilen, Jalen Coker, Hunter Renfrow, Jimmy Horn, Brycen Tremayne  OL (9): Ikem Ekwonu, Damien Lewis, Austin Corbett, Robert Hunt, Taylor Moton, Cade Mays, Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Yosh Nijman    Defense (25) DL (6): Derrick Brown, Bobby Brown, Ashawn Robinson, Tershawn Wharton, Sam Roberts, Cam Jackson OLB (5): DJ Wonnum, Pat Jones, Nic Scourton, Princely Umanmielen, Thomas Incoom  ILB (5): Trevin Wallace, Christian Rozeboom, Krys Barnes, Jon Rattigen, Claudin Cherelus S (4): Trevon Moehrig, Demani Richardson, Lathan Ransom, Nick Scott  CB (5): Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson, Chau Smith-Wade, Corey Thornton, Shemar Bartholomew    ST (3): LS: JJ Jansen  P: Sam Martin  K: Matthew Wright    Would like to hear everyone's thoughts
