Bryce is still the future

Or Canales getting on Bryce for not trusting the play calls and checking down to the screen which is meant to freeze the D if they don't cover the receiver on the post. Bryce is still getting spooked by disguised blitzes.

Honestly think it should have been classified as a strip/fumble rather than an INT.

I'm not convinced he should still be the qb next year but he's earned the right to finish this season and figure it out. He keeps improving, maybe we have something.. But I'm not certain that will happen

How is it a strip fumble if he got the ball off a pass and it didn't hit the ground.

The bar is really low, but certainly showed some progress. He had some nice plays but also lots of bad ones. It was an inconsistent effort. The stats would be better if David Moore doesn’t drop a deep shot that Bryce put in a good spot and if the Saints CB doesn’t make an incredible interception on a play where the officials should have called DPI on another deep shot. That was a really nice deep throw to the outside, which is where he’s really struggled.
 

He had plays where stepped up and navigated the pocket better than he has in the past. But he also had a bunch of plays where he didn’t manage the pocket well at all. And a lot of plays where he was to quick to dump the ball down behind or at the line of scrimmage. Those types of plays are drive killers and mostly negate the positives he showed. 
 

So I don’t really take much away from this game. He performed better than he’s done in the past because it went from zero positives to a handful of positives. But that’s not the bar we should be judging him by. We need to see more consistency from him. And we need to see it over a sustained period of time. Right now, there are no indications we’ll ever see that.

Yet is actually is a victory that he is willing to throw it. I honestly think Canales might have threatened him if he kept checking it down or throwing it away. Go down the field with the ball and let what will happen, happen.

Bryce played his best game of his career today and HE IS GETTING BETTER EVERY GAME. 
 

Let’s see if he keeps progressing and if he does…we won’t be anywhere near the #1 pick and we may have found our qb of the future after his horrific start. I choose to believe in Bryce for now.

 

Also…he has 3 wins in his career and all 3 were 4th quarter comebacks.

he’s cheap and can be a serviceable backup to whichever vet they sign.   Don’t see why you’d move off that when a vet backup will cost more and they need the cap space.

That's why I said to let him finish the season. It's a lost cause anyways and then it will be easier to pull the trigger on a switch if he falls apart again
