Still hoping for Sanders. This QB class is weak and Sanders is the only one that looks legit. If we don't fix the QB problem, it doesn't matter how many playmakers we end up drafting and signing because we're still going to suck. Sanders in the 1st, BPA/defense for the remaining of the draft.

We have enough Sanders on our team....

With a top 10 pick I'm saying QB, pass rusher, WR, CB, or trade down. Those are the only position groups that command that type of draft investment other than OT and we don't have need there. If there's a guy you project as an elite Ed Reed/Earl Thomas type of over the top sideline to sideline safety that qualifies too but honestly the top 10 worthy safety prospects only come around once every few years or so.

I wouldn't necessarily be looking at Evero's scheme projecting defenders to the Panthers in the off-season. Just saying. When you have one of the bottom units in the league and you're a holdover from the last staff your future is probably very much undetermined.

I think it's more he'll want to leave rather than we'll want to get rid of him.

He's an excellent DC.

Trevin Wallace is a special teamer. He got knocked out yesterday by Daniel jones. I like him, but he’s limited.

Jewell is about to turn 30, but he’s a smart player and i think he can play multiple positions

Jewell is a fine player, Wallace is whatever, neither should have an impact on who the panthers draft for the front 7.

Wallace was in on the game-sealing fumble - he shot the gap and slowed the RB down so Robinson could make the tackle. He also isn't an edge rusher, which is what I gather Walker is.

You're talking about D.J. Johnson, who Jones did indeed knock out.

Genuinely, BPA.

We've neglected to do that for so long. The last two times we did that we got Brown and Horn, who are clearly two of our best players and stand out from their peers on this team.

I think he's pretty average and if you're under contract it doesn't matter if you want to leave or not unless someone is offering you a HC job. He'll basically get out of your unit what the roster is. If you have an elite unit he'll probably get you an elite D, average unit average D, bottom of the barrel unit bottom of the barrel D. He is as a coordinator what a game manager QB is IMO. You'll be what you are, he's not going to significantly lift you up or drag you down.

I pretty much agree with you except for on one position missing from the list. A great LB (middle or OLB) can really change a defense. If there's a Luke Kuechly, Patrick Willis, Ray Lewis or Jon Beason is in the top 10 we need to grab them if the best pass rushing DE is off the board. If a Micah Parson or Derek Brooks is sitting there, we need to consider grabbing them too. Players like that have to be accounted for every week. We don't have a LB on our roster like that.  Elite LB's make everyone better. However, as you pointed out about the safety position they have to be better than good, they need to be great/exceptional.

Isn't this the last year of his contract?

I think he squeezes all the juice out of what you've got - but no, he's not an aggressive DC. If that's what you're looking for the he won't be your cup of tea.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
