Brooks will be getting his first playing time as a Panthers  running back and i am anxious to see how he does.

Yeah i'm ready to see our new toy finally. Really hope we can keep it close so have some positives going into the Tampa game. Chris Godwin will still be out so throw Jaycee on Evans and hopefully can have a good showing. Sounds like Wirfs will be back for us, sounds terrible but would love for him to aggravate that knee somehow.

I would temper our expectations.  CMC was a top 8 pick and struggled his first year.  I don't expect much from Brooks this year coming back from an injury.

i'm not expecting a ton. 5-6 touches but if he could break one for over 15yds I feel like would bring some relief about the pick being justified.

Agreed. Hes not going to burst out immediately for a couple reasons

1. We're still working him back from an injury

2. First game back

3. Going to get blown out

4. We have chuba frigging Hubbard who will go over 1000 rush yards this year.

Like others stated I expect a modest game with 6- 10 touches and maybe 45 total yards

CMC had 1000+ yards as a rookie.  I wouldn't say he struggled.  He just quickly become significantly better in the following years.  Specifically between the tackles when he added muscle.

No he didn’t. He had less than 500 yds rushing, on 3.7 yds per carry and most here were saying that he was a wasted top 10 pick, we should have drafted someone else or that’ Kamara was better

Sounds familiar? We will here more of it after Sunday about Brooks

This might be the game that gives Dave his out to go back to Andy. However that Vegas game looks like an outlier now as the games after that haven’t been much better than anything Young has done

Hopefully 19 comes back and Coker can get some snaps on the outside where I think he’s much better

I just want to see Bryce continue to show signs of life. Push the ball downfield when the opportunity presents itself and move around in the pocket better

This game, to me, determines Young’s future team…and it isn’t going to be here…meaning, can he push the ball down the field or not…can he make plays against a very very good defense…

KC will stop the run. KC will blitz him up the middle.  They will say to him…now beat us….

It is time to grow up.

More like time to give it up. He can't do that.

To me his future has been displayed. In college.

    • Watched the recent Mic'd up which had the Bucs game. This angle makes that fumble look so much worse, pretty sure it was inbetween Bryce's hands.   bbb.mp4
    • Here is what you did not mention (and I have not read the thread--but will--it is a needed) and that is the MAFF.  He is in a contract year (2026-5th year) and we will not know (in all likelihood) how the knee is healing by the time we have to decide on a mega deal.   If you consider the time it takes to fully heal is 12 months if all goes well, the injury is known to shorten careers.  Of course, a man of 330 lbs who needs agility to perform at a high level makes the injury a bit more serious than it was for Jimmy Graham, for example, who recovered in a remarkable 9 months.  Having said all that, I think he should be moved inside to guard.   While many NFL linemen can return to play after patellar tendon surgery, studies show a significant failure rate and reduced performance, with return-to-play (RTP) rates often cited around 50-56%, meaning roughly 44-50% don't make it back, and even those who do often see reduced careers and statistics, highlighting it as a devastating injury for linemen." I think you have to go after an elite OT, and I think it should be a first rounder because you don't sign elite LTs in free agency.  Ickey is already going to get paid $18m or so in 2026.    However, the money you save by not locking him down long term could go to a free agent edge or ILB.  It is very complicated if you start factoring in contracts, risks, cap, and the odds of recovery.
    • Yes, we played the 2nd most cover 3 in the NFL behind the Raiders.   The flats and seams are the areas you want to attack it so its soft spots are areas qbs can hit quickly which can definitely hurt the pass rush.
