I think he meant swap this year's 1st rounder with someone and they give us an additional 2nd rounder and next year's 1st rounder.

You aren't getting that for the 4th pick unless there is a legit QB - which there won't be.  And if you did the 1st you got would be in the 20's which means the team doesn't need a QB.  So basically it is completely unrealistic.  Now moving down in the top 10 and getting a 2nd in return is much more likely and I am good with that if we still get Abdul Carter.

I don't get the fascination for Tet - you can't just look at stats.  That guy doesn't move anything like Mike Evans or Courtland Sutton or Marques Colston.  And his stats are against a weak schedule - propped up by 1 game against a horrible defense where he had 4TD and 300yds.  Take that out and he had 4 TD's in 11 games.  The best asset of guys like that is red zone, so his TD numbers should be elevated but...  I don't see him as the #1 WR.  Burden is the #1 WR for me.

Its way too early to say that qbs are going to go 1 and 2.  We dont know the draft order and more importantly no combine, no interviews and no private workouts.

There are only 4 games left, nearly 0 reasonable FA QB's, and two hugely QB needy teams who have little to no chance of dropping out of the top 4.  Sure there is a chance - but it isn't even close to early.  Sanders and Ward may both opt out of the Combine - and those workouts aren't gonna make that big of a change - never do.  It isn't set but it is highly likely.

That said we still won't get a 2nd, a 1st, and a top 15 1st for the 4 spot even if one of those is there.  Again you ignore the fact that THEY DROPPED TO 4.  The draft value chart will concur that a haul like that is a massive overpay for the 4th pick.  Not impossible but about as likely as Bryce coming into camp at 6'2" next year.

I see Sanders going to vegas, I mean that is basically etched in stone.  Then that leaves ward.  Maybe he goes to NYG and I could see that.  And under that scenario we probably land Hunter (as things stand today) assuming no trades.  But if the giants are not in love with ward then the draft gets really crazy after that.  I personally like ward but it seems a ton of the analysts have major issues with him so maybe teams are thinking the same way

True - but I don't think the Giants are in a position to be too picky - especially if Daboll is still there fighting for his job.  They don't have any options other than drafting a QB high, so he will go with the consensus best available.  I personally don't like Ward's decision making and accuracy.  I see him as a late 1st rounder at best.  If he was in last year's draft he would have been my 6th or 7th QB.

I can only speak for me.

I would 100% play him at DB only. Then I would let him return punts and kickoffs. I don't play him on offense. This is a business at the end of the day and we have to look out for his health. He's not gonna last long playing both ways at the pro level.

Let Horn and Hunter cook on defense. We basically have 2 #1 DBs. Brown got the middle of the defense and you build your defense around those 3 guys.

I like your idea the best. DB and return duties just like Deion back in the day. Though I can't stand the dude, he was one HELL of a returner and DB. Hunter could potentially be another Deion in some ways.

Play him as a CB and situationally as a WR especially in the red zone or on two min drives

You guys have me sold on Hunter as a DB and sprinkling in for some potential return duties and a little bit of WR as needed lightly to keep him healthy as possible and still get some amazing usage out of him. Now all that must be done is he be available and they be able to convince Deion that this would be a good situation for him to be in as far as building for the future goes.

    • Given that the immediate impact we need at edge. We almost certainly address that in Free agency, not in the draft. Same with Linebacker, unless Styles or Allen is still there at 19. I think the same for OT.  What is the position that we could draft in the 1st round and get immediate help in the first is how im approaching their decision-making  I know ill get dragged for this, but im thinking they go DT in the first. A guy that can play right away and be a complement to D.Brown to wreak havoc at the LOS.   So unless a top tier LB is there, I think DT will be the move.
    • I think people forget that by his last season Steve Smith had the ass and he played like it - and for no really good reason other than that other stars were emerging on the team and he didn't want to share the spot light.  He was more of a locker room distraction than he was worth. He went on to have great performances with the Ravens' but G-man made the right move allowing him to move on from here.  I personally think it was addition by subtraction and we don't have a super bowl run with Smith on the roster. Steve Smith remains a narcissist who I've never seen internalize his own culpability when it comes to his relationships with others - it's always somebody else's fault as to why he was forced to act like an asshole. This video is a product ad.  I'm cringed that either of these two Panther greats are party to it.
    • I think the ‘issue’ here is that we had two guys that clashed for several reasons. In some ways they were different, but in other ways they had a lot in common, and sadly they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you have two people like that together they are either going to love or hate each other, and if it’s the latter, you need someone to mediate and hope the two individuals are capable of putting their differences aside for the common good. In this instance, they couldn’t find a way to move forwards together because I don’t think either guy wanted to play second fiddle to the other. This video basically said neither guy had the tools to bridge that gap and mend that fence, and perhaps also were unwilling to give an inch at that stage in their lives and careers. So a divorce, while unfortunate, was always likely. Do we win the Super Bowl with Smitty and Cam? Well, it’s one of life’s big what ifs for us Panthers fans.
