Very real possibility Will Johnson is BPA when we’re picking 7…

I understand we need talent at literally every position but Mike Jack hasn’t been bad and they’re going to lock up Horn

If we do end up with Johnson and Horn I’d like to see us play a crap load of man

I'd be surprised if he's still there at 7, personally I think he's the top CB in the draft (his size is the differentiator for me when comparing with Hunter)

In that case if we are 7 you got 2 CBs and 2 QBs gone by pick 5. We get either the #1 DT, DE, or WR. Im happy with any of those tbh

Why? I can name 3 other players arguably as good or better than Horn in that draft. The point is, there’s no reason to lose sleep over picking 4 vs 7 unless there’s a generational guy which there isn’t. We have the same shot of screwing up 4 and we do 7, just whatever happens happens. BPA at one of our biggest needs

It has nothing to do with Horn and it has nothing to do with even the Panthers

It's a general statement for all teams/fans who like to say, "but Parsons went 12th, blah blah blah"

Parsons was a MLB, he was never going Top 5, even sneaking into the Top 10 would have been tough, people thought we were crazy to take Kuechly at 9 since he was a MLB, they just never go that high in the draft.

Anyone who points to Parsons draft position compared to the player he is today is completely missing the point, he was NOT a pass rusher coming into the draft, so any talk about his draft position is just flawed, literally even the team that drafted him didn't see him being a pass rusher for them, it took injuries for them to find it.

And no, you don't have the same chance at screwing up a higher pick.  The higher your pick, the better chance you have at not screwing it up, that's just common sense.

Sure, and I think it's one of those things that comes down more to need than anything.

But personally, I think he'd go ahead of Carter and Graham, and again, I personally rank him over Hunter as well.

The Giants and Raiders winning though actually makes it less likely of Johnson falling to 7 anyways.  There is a very real chance that neither of them feel these QBs are worth a haul to move up to get them, which if it's the case, it opens up 2 more players to be drafted in the Top 3 that aren't QB's

Taking another guy coming off injury is too risky for me.  Pass

Why do you keep going back to Parsons? I'm not talk about Parsons at all.

I was responding to someone talking about Parsons, so I pointed out that using him as an example is horrible because he wasn't an edge rusher as a draft prospect.

You responded to that by talking about the Horn pick, I was just re-iterating that my point had nothing to do with us, it was solely about Parsons being an anomaly who changed positions and why he's a bad player to use as an example of a stud being drafted outside the Top 10.

So I could say, why do you keep going back to Horn, I'm not talking about Horn at all

I’m going back to Horn because, again, my point is there is no point losing sleep over us picking 7 vs 4. We are the Panthers, we have the same chance to make a good or bad pick at both. We don’t evaluate well.

Maybe less social media vids serving raccoon to the lockerroom and more time on a fuging JUGS machine.

You can tell he’s eating all this attention he’s getting from the country accent, raccoon, etc up. The only thing I care to hear about, when it comes to XL this offseason, is about the wrist getting fixed and him working on catching the ball. Don’t care about any of that other sh*t lol

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
