I'd include Xavier Woods...but you don't have to...

Woods is one of the worst culprits on this team.

A'Shawn and Jewell are both starters on most squads.   So we are at 4/11.   And one of them has been on IR since week 1.

It's a horrible defensive roster.  But Evero's scheme is hot garbage this year and he needs to be allowed the opportunity to succeed elsewhere.

Not quite sure where he currently ranks, but you may be being too hard on him. He's probably middle of the pack. His play has fallen off, but so has the quality of his backfield mates.

Name the players on our defensive roster that would start for other NFL teams.

I would amend that to which of the players on our roster would start for the majority of the teams in the NFL? That is definitely only Brown and Horn.

We have a small group that would start for some teams(Jewell, Woods, Clowney, Jackson, etc). That is less about them as players as it is that there are a few other dumpster fire rosters in the NFL too.

It's largely rotational guys and PS players.

Almost every D has players at the Jewell/Woods etc level starting... Jackson and Clowney have, at times, been extremely good too imo... The problem is there's nobody other than Horn playing that ever deserves a positive comment like that on our D lol.  Our JAGs are our best players 🥴

He got me too not long after that, I complained about him choosing a cheaper material in one of our processes that required twice the amount of labor and pointed out he wasn't actually saving any money by doing it. I got put on an impossible project with ridiculous deadlines not long after that and got the point.

Luckily, I found a better company after that and then eventually I was my own boss when I started doing my own thing.

I worked for a boss like that once. He was actually a pretty good guy and not a bad boss but he didn't let anyone resign. If you put in your notice he'd terminate you. It was weird but whatever. Then he got mad when someone just up and quit with no notice and we were all like "Bro, you were gonna haul off and fire him on the spot anyway like you always do so why are you mad?" I honestly don't even think it has occured to him up until then. LOL

Evero may be fired, and I'd be good with that, but some people (NFL types) will say that we did him dirty. The gutting of our defensive personnel---what little quality we had (that strangely I'm having a hard time remembering) was jettisoned outta here in favor of the offense. At least that was the narrative. Perhaps it wasn't that, but the refusal or inability to invest in better players because we were too busy investing in the offense. Now, I'm skeptical of both (offense and defense), and I know you don't even believe Legette will really ever be what he was drafted to be. He certainly didn't have a great season. Though I understood it, I was skeptical of the Brooks pick. I have always been a vocal supporter of Chuba, and I think that I was right. I was also skeptical of the Sanders pick, not because I think that he's bad, but because I didn't see the TE as an important part of Tampa Bay's or the Seahawks' offense, and for all that they use the TE, Tremble would've sufficed. Don't get me wrong, I believe in TEs being a normal part of the offense, but there's no need to spend high draft capital on them if you're not gonna use them to their potential. The way we run our offense, why even spend a high fourth on Sanders when we already had Tremble? I guess what I'm saying is that they didn't use the picks on offense effectively, and that has ultimately left us wanting on offense and desperately needing on defense. Their seeming method---concept---way they went about business last offseason has not beared the fruit that was the expectation. Hell, we don't even know if Bryce is the guy after all that.

Tremble is just Ian Thomas+, IMO. Classic JAG

Sanders could be a dude. He looked the part for a chunk of the season, that is for sure.

Last season didn't help us much this season. They need to go younger.

I generally agree, and I'm all for it, but you can't build Rome in a day (as it seems like we've been saying the last six years now). We're going to have to have some aging vets starting within the youth movement.

I can't help but think of Jeremy Chinn...seems like he would've been a great box safety (imagine that).

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
