I can’t believe the Eagles paid Hurts. The guy cannot throw the ball downfield and has two legit WR’s in Brown and Smith

They could’ve just drafted someone like Milroe and not missed a beat

Lol. Milroe is literally the poorest man's version of Hurts. If you don't like Hurts you definitely won't like Milroe.

I’m saying they could plug in Milroe for a fraction of the cost and things wouldn’t really be any different

No, they would be substantially worse. That's not a 1:1.

I wouldn't have wanted to pay Hurts either but I also wouldn't have wanted to pay Lawrence or Goff or Dak or most of these recent contract guys. Nor would I want to be paying Purdy.

At this point, that is just sort of the price of a starting QB anymore.

QB contracts are getting so crazy that honestly I'm of the opinion that if he's not legit MVP caliber you're better off letting him walk and drafting one. When you pay decent starters huge money you have to make the type of roster decisions that you can't afford to make unless it's for an MVP caliber player.

    • And again, the TLDR of the above is........ My expectations for T-Mac's rookie season have nothing to do with him and more because of my expectations for the rest of the WR room. I think his 2nd season when we then lose Thielen and replace him by just shifting everyone else up a spot in the pecking order and replace him with an end of the bench guy, is when he explodes for a huge yardage season. XL and Coker wouldn't make a good 1/2 combo with Thielen in the slot.  But T-Mac as the 1 with Thielen in the slot has the real potential to make XL/Coker an actual elite 2/4 combo.  Drafting T-Mac drastically changes the potential impact of those two, if anything, that's the biggest thing taking him did to the offense. Because honestly, how many teams have a 3rd and 4th receiving option as good as XL and Coker?
    • good one though it’s really no joke. I know a few friends and family members that suffer with this condition.
    • There's nothing normal about a 73 year old dating a 24 year old and a wildly successful NFL coach going to the college level in his twilight years is unprecedented. Yeah, raving success or absolute clown show. We'll see how it plays out on the field but this is why I was always very apprehensive about going after Belichick. The odds of it going the clown show route seem to be increasing by the day.
