Don't forget though on Jakes best statistical season Smitty went down week one leaving a rookie Keary Colbert as a starting WR with Mangum at TE and Nick Goings the starting RB.

That was Delhommes best year as a QB and a distributor of the ball. I think Jake was the right QB at the right time. But he was also a flawed player. Once he couldn’t rely on his arm to force throws he got exposed in other areas of his game. Hate to say it but he was holding the team back in 2008.

Yeah, not paying Jake as perfect by any means I just think a lot of people act like his success was all because of Smitty. The Tommy John surgery ruined him. It seemed like it effected his accuracy and confidence more than his arm strength IMO.

Well Moose also had 1400/16 and we did have Ricky Proehl still then. I would say that is still a better group than what the Ravens have currently. It's a pretty underwhelming group without Flowers and Andrews kind of being a ghost of himself.

I'll take 2007 Moose and Co over these guys.

Moose absolutely had a career year but Proehl was 36 at that point and pretty limited. I'd take the Ravens skill position crew over what Jake was working with that year for sure.

I will take our WR's and TE's. The RB group isn't even an argument. The Ravens backup RB would have been a starter for us then, to say nothing of the greatest RB of this generation.

I think he wasn’t reading the field well and Smitty spoiled him a bit with his insane talent. There was a time where Jake had a special arm but I think it masked a lot of flaws in his game. Matt Moore was the better QB in 07/08. I was pissed that Fox didn’t pull Jake at half time against ARZ.

    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
    • I don't really care about your post at all. I just saw the direction of the discussion and this snippet from an article I read earlier in the day was a good spot to put non-Panthers info. I mostly don't care about the players personal lives. That's off the field/personal poo. Not really any of my business.  I also don't know him personally so what would be the point of congratulating him outside basically attempting to draw attention to myself like so many in the social media/internet realm.
