More Irresponsible Injury

The Panthers should just never have any of their players practice!

Especially their star players! They are already the best! They don't need practice!

Heck, lets lock up all our players into a max security prison so we can control every move they make!

It's time to end all this, and keep our players in a bubble for the rest of their Panther careers!!!

Truth is that injuries can happen at any time. Davis' injury was a fluke as was Smith's arm. Sure you shouldn't play flag football but lets be honest he has played before in that league and never gotten hurt. Now it is a major problem.

So should he avoid all possibility of injury from any source? That means he shouldn't drive anywhere since car accidents are a major source of player injuries off season. He should avoid climbing a ladder, swimming, doing any kind of physical work etc.

I get that playing flag football can cause accidents but really how many folks get injured? I figure his arm was susceptible to another break for whatever reason and this is an opportunity to fix it and get him better for the year. Otherwise I imagine he would have done this in training camp or in preseason anyway. After all he hurt it without any contact at all.

Steve Smith should have never played in that game against the Giants last year. Had he not broken his arm then, he probably wouldn't have fractured it playing flag football.

Damn that irresponsible coach Fox for putting him in a game that didn't matter! Weren't we up by like 30 points when he got injured?

    • Unless this team plans on overpaying for Rasheed Walker who in my mind is the only long-term starting LT option in free agency then bringing back Yosh is a must.  We have no depth at the tackle spots and with Ickey's and Brady's injuries plus Moton's chronic knee troubles we need to bring in at least 3 tackles this offseason.  Bring back Yosh plus another vet OT and take 1 in the draft. Let Yosh, another vet, and our highly drafted rookie battle it out for the starting LT job in camp and let the best man win.  Ickey struggled early on his rookie year so having a vet option or 2 on the roster to turn to would be wise.  I'd also like us to bring back Corbett at center as he'll likely come back for the vet minimum, and I wouldn't be shocked if Cade Mayes got a really expensive deal on the open market. Some team that loses out on Tyler Linderbaum is going to overpay Cade Mayes.
    • I'd offer him a decent salary on a 3 year deal that's front loaded, or a 1 year deal that's higher $$ wise because he's likely more important to us than anyone else this coming year.  Doesn't keep us from drafting an OT either way IMO, and we cover our asses in FA and see where the draft/Ickey's rehab lands.
    • Yep. BUT, even if Canales does become stagnant, I'd argue he did his job...of turning this back into a decent job instead of one only a WR coach would take.  Obviously the owner and front office may play more of a role in that aspect, but we're back to showing potential coaches we're not a total clown show.
