Armanti Edwards Signs (4yr, 2.5 mil)

Recommended Posts

Panthers agreed to terms with third-round WR/KR Armanti Edwards on a four-year, $2.5 million contract.

The Panthers overpaid to trade up for Edwards, sending a 2011 second-rounder to the Patriots. Early reports on Edwards' transition from quarterback to receiver have been encouraging, however. He could open the season as the Panthers' slot receiver and primary kick returner. Possessing dangerous playmaking ability, he's a sleeper to stash in Dynasty leagues.

So if we pay 4 years 2.5 million for a late third round receiver, anyone still think we can get Clausen who is a mid second rounder for close to that?? I predicted closer to 5 years 10 to 12 million. or 2 to 2 1/2 million a year. That will still be a bargain if Moore wants 7 or 8.

Yeah I know I derailed the thread. LOL

Ok last years number 48 received 4-years, $3.76M ($2.01M guaranteed) with Pat White receiving 4-years, $4.475M ($2.43M guaranteed) who was picked 4 places before.

Explain to me how Jimmy Clausen can suddenly demand 1st round pick money? 5 years for 10-12 million would put him around 28-32 money based off last years salaries...

    • Why are Vikings fans acting like we peed in their cereal?
    • I’m actually fine with our TE group. I would like to see us upgrade at ILB, maybe safety and CB.   I think we are good at WR. I thought Corley could have been a good player but I guess he wasn’t doing good at all.   I came across this article about Corley from today. I know sometimes a change of scenery can really help turn around a player and we’ve seen plenty of players from the jets end up being good other places. I just don’t know if Corley is that guy.   https://www.newsweek.com/sports/nfl/jets-insider-shares-embarrassing-fact-about-malachi-corleys-release-2119816
    • I was really rooting for him after seeing that video about his struggles. I always thought he was a solid and underrated player.   I thought for sure he would have made the team after hearing all the hype and how he made that overthrown catch by Plummer behind the line and still was able to gain a yard or two off it. Plummer really overthrew him each time yet he was able to still not lose yards. I think he still could play in the nfl. I think he may need a few months to get into top form though. Hopefully he will get signed to another team.
