I think what they mean is that the record doesn't matter. Execution and level of play does.

I don't care about the record as much as I care how well we play. We had a horrible record last year because we played so horrible. The writing was on the walls early, no more "vanilla" excuses please.

Last year we went 0-4 in the preseason and then started 0-4 in the regular season. We looked like crap in the preseason and just couldn't move the ball on offense.

I'm not sure what our record was the year we went 12-4 but I remember we looked damn good in the preseason epsecially in that game were we absolutely demolished the Redskins. We were either 2-2 or 3-1.

Then we went on to go 4-1 winning our first two games without Steve Smith. Both were comeback victories too.

We will start off slow this year. One cause Fox will hold back the offense because of Moore. Two because our Defense is green and will get eaten alive the first part of the season. Its a rebuild year what do you expect.

I won't complain even if we go 1-3 in the preseason just as long as we win game 3,at least the 1st half of the game, when most of the starters will be playing.

That was one awesome game, and proof that pre-season games do often give you an indication of a team's strengths and weaknesses.

But it could very well be the opposite when John Fox faces the reality of running onto the field as a true lame-duck coach. If he decides he wants to stay in Charlotte, he may pull out all the stops and actually try to win a preseason game.

But I'm one of those few who happen to believe Jerry Richardson has already tapped Fox's successor and it's only a matter of getting through a 2010 season that Richardson himself has all but written off while planning for a 2011 lockout.

I agree 100%...people that say the preseason doesn't matter are right but that's only in terms of a record it does mean a lot in terms of getting a look at what could reall hurt us this year or what we could excel at. Think of how bad the run defense was during preseason last year and guys kept screaming that it doesn't matter but we had issues with our run defense almost all year.
