Who are your favorite prospects in this upcoming draft?

If I had to pick a favorite from each position group, mine would be:

  • QB: Kyle McCord (Syracuse)
  • RB: Cam Skatteboo (Arizona State)
  • WR: Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State)
  • TE: Tyler Warren (Penn State)
  • OT: Will Campbell (LSU)
  • OG: Donovan Jackson (Ohio State)
  • OC: Seth McLaughlin (Ohio State)
  • EDGE: Donovan Ezeiruaku (Boston College)
  • DL: Derrick Harmon (Oregon)
  • LB: Jalon Walker (Georgia)
  • CB: Dorian Strong (Virginia Tech)
  • S: Malaki Starks (Georgia)

If I had to put together a top 5 for prospects I enjoyed scouting the most, they'd be (in no particular order): Donovan Ezeiruaku, Tyler Warren, Dorian Strong, Malaki Starks, and Jalon Walker.

If I hadn't watched Starks' 2023 + 2022 film as well, I'd probably swap him for Egbuka.

Who have y'all enjoyed scouting?

You forgot punter, long snapper, and kicker

Keeping me honest, I appreciate that... but I haven't scouted LS nor P so I'm taking the coward's way out and grouping them all as special teams!

  • ST: Andres Borregales, K, Miami

Borregales is also the only ST player I've scouted... was interested after he worked with Coach Bates at the Senior Bowl.

You've done a lot more than I have. At this point I just watch the college games and give the Panthers games a go before getting ticked off with them and changing the channel or doing something else. That's if I watch the Panthers at all.

But I do like Warren and think he's probably the only guy talked about in the top 10-15, I'd like to see the Panther draft. But that's been discussed before. I liked what I saw of Skatteboo in the season and wouldn't mind him being drafted by the Panthers in the 4th or later. As for the others, Shrugs GIF

@Icege I like your McLaughlin shout out.  He had a bad injury so may have a delay to start, but he's a legit NFL center.

I liked him at Bama and love his scheme versatility. He's quick enough to play in a zone scheme but also gets enough drive to work power. Really high on his ability to recognize blitzes and stunts (that latter one being a sore spot for Panthers' fans the last cpl of seasons T_T)

Oooh, I haven't checked out LeQuint Allen at all and I've still gotta watch Tyleik Williams. Might try and sneak in some of them in today when I hit this three hour stretch of meetings @ 1pm... 👀

Big fan of these 3! Tahj Brooks runs like a sledgehammer, Zy Alexander is yet another in a long line of LSU DBs, and Malachi Moore's College Gameday story made me an even bigger fan.

I'm being a bit delinquent today during Teams calls today too haha.

Noticed Allen watching McCord.  He's nice.  Strong pass catcher who could come in and not really take away from Chuba.  But also fill in if needed.

-a quick edit/add-

For Tyleik, I already like him and then heard there's a lot of quiet buzz and he's been interviewing super well (forgot where but it was yesterday) Seems like a guy teams don't want to let out they are coveting.

    • Just chasing targets is a fools game. Chase averaged 85 yrds and .76 TDs per game his first year and 87.16 yrds, and .75 TD's per game his second year. Statistically the same. NOT an improvement. Puka saw no increase either. Yes, Waddle's went down because he had to share targets with another receiver - just like TMac will have to share targets with Coker next year so you have actually just made my point concerning Coker. Olave saw an increase in targets but Carr replaced Dalton and even with the increase in targets, his production was pretty flat (83 extra yards and 1 more TD for the entire year). And Wilson's number did increase but the Jets replaced the other two receivers and their contribution was significantly down from Davis's and Moore's. Again, nothing in those numbers should lead anyone to believe there will be a big leap for Tmac next year.
    • See my previous post. You're also leaving out that T-Mac was likely hitting a rookie wall, like 95% of rookies do late in their first season, combined with the added attention on him by defenses, which in turn would be why Bryce looked Coker's way down the stretch.  With Coker playing like that to start next year, defenses will have to pay attention to it, which will then also make things easier for T-Mac. All of which is also ignoring that T-Mac will just be a better player next year than he was this year, assuming he works on his game this offseason, which we all know he will be.  If a player who was already your clear cut #1 comes back even better his next season, you're going to make sure you're throwing it his way more often, no matter who else you have. Again, Coker's added targets won't be at the expense of T-Mac's, they will BOTH be taking targets from the rest of the team.  Not to mention, we should be passing it more next year to begin with, seeing as we'll have both of them hopefully ready to go full speed Week 1, which again, will help both their target totals increase. Coker looks like a really good player, but even the most optimistic person can't say he looks like he has #1 potential, he has very solid to maybe even high end #2 potential.  You're not taking targets away from the reigning OROY who looks like a true Top 15 WR already to get your #2 targets, you increase both of them by taking from the others.
