Would you feel better?

Of course hindsight is 20-20 but how much better would you feel about the defense if the front office could have kept diggs and Lewis? Lewis was the one guy I never really understood why we released him bc he had been a pretty steady player over the past few seasons and with two DT's coming off injured reserve it just didn't make sense. Now the same can be said about diggs with the injury to Davis.

Or would you be just as concerned if they were here? To me losing Harris was an example of a move where I didn't really feel we lost anything except maybe leadership. I guess it just seems like the defense has taken a huge hit and we have really lost more than we gained...and you know the old Fox saying, "if you aren't getting better, your getting worse."

The last sack I can remember Lewis getting was in the Arizona playoff game, I think early in the first quarter. Lewis was brought in for his pass rushing ability, but had little to none. He did however (oddly) end up being decent against the run. It's easy to replace a player who is decent against the run, with little to no pass rush. Fox did it in a jiffy. What does 'jiffy' actually mean?

guessing its a relation to jiffy cornbread since that doesnt take but like 5 mins to prepare and 15 to cook .. but then again thats just a guess

Yeah, a little but I understand where the FO was going with the moves they made this year.

The 2011 season is looking like a lockout. There is a ton of young talented guys that we either drafted or traded for. This is a pretty good year to find out what you have and you need to know. Fox was stuck in a rut with the old guys because of the pressure on him to win. The old guys were not really getting us anywhere and with this wealth of talented young players they either needed to poo or get off the pot.

If the younguns don't perform then we have a possible year without any football to come up with a new gameplan and go in a new direction. I personally think that we are going to be fine.

The fear of the unknown is really bothering fans but if you look at this roster it is full of potential.

The only player I would have liked to of kept was Pep and they made him a hell of a deal. Supposedly on par and maybe slightly more than what Chicago gave him. He just wanted out.

its not all about pass rush folks, those guys stop the run too, if you want to see what tyler and leonard can do, go watch the miami game again and think to yourself, dang we are not going to have jp either... that is what our oline is going to look like

Ask me this question in about 3 months or so, because it depends on how the new guys work out.

The better question is whether outside of Peppers and Jake, would you feel better bringing back the other veterans to compete with all of the younger guys and seeing who wins out and who gets cut in camp. Would folks be happier if Lewis, Diggs, Moose, Hoover and Kemo were still here competing. It would mean we couldn't have brought in a few camp fodder guys who are not going to make the roster anyway.

The answer for me would be an emphatic yes.
