Overall fan interest down?

Been to the last 6 camps. This year has had the fewest fans show up. Have the cuts to some of the well known players resulted in a decrease in interest? Not sure I understand their reasoning, for me this camp is more worthy of attending in years with all of the actual competition at key positions.

The economy may have a lot to do with it. Most folks are pinching pennies these days. Just a thought.

Not to make this a political thread... but I seriously believe it is the economy. I know of at least two people who have moved away from Charlotte because of employment, and I don't know anyone who has the spare money to buy gas to drive down to Spartanburg.

I just moved to the Carolinas from New Jersey roughly two years ago so it was impossible to previously attend. Now I get here and the camps are always held in South Carolina? I live in Winston Salem so it would be a hell of a hike to get there and leave without a Clausen or LaFell autograph.

i agree its the economy. i want to go, but a 5 hr one way drive is a little much to pay for when you include food, gas and a hotel. that's why I am counting on people like you Zod.

The casual fan/autograph seekers who fill much of camp and a teams fanbase don't have much interest. Wanna bet that if T.O signed in Carolina instead of Cincy there wouldn't be 2x as many people there (if not more)?
