Anyone else worried for Beason...

Lumps

Recommended Posts

Hopefully, Hardy has another good outing and gets to play with the 1st/2nd string. Let Beast go back to MLB and Hardy play outside, and Connor can be backup.

Hardy is 277 lbs.....how in the hell would he play OLB.

Maybe in Madden...but not here on Planet Earth.

Beason, as a player, doesn't concern me at all...he will have an impact and will adapt. The long term prospect of losing TD does worry me, but I think he can return and I really hope he gets at least a shot this year. He's one of my favorites on this team and he's still young.

Yeah, but that guy you have pictured there in your sig just may be the answer one day.

Bumpin' dis because it seems we have another LB in our midst. Nic Harris from Buffalo Bills has been aquired to truss the weak LB'er situation. Williams got a stinger at Thursday's game, and I think these two while not related directly come at a very slim time for us. I have always felt comfortable with our D until 2008 showed we needed change and Meeks is giving it to us, but I sure hate to see the LB slot having numerous issues.

I am prolly over-reacting...you think?

worried is too strong of a word. I am not even slightly concerned. If you are a Panther fan and you are worried about Jon Beason I really do not know what to tell you.

Also "clear that TD is done here" is wild speculation at its worst. One of the reason's Jon is here is because of his versatility.

Preseason is for finding out who can do what and what needs to be focused on in final preparation for the season.

I wonder if it's possible to slide Beason around much akin to how DE's slide inside sometimes to play DT or WR's line up as the X Y and Z receivers and go in motion to confuse and disrupt based on the package and situation. Obviously it depends on ability and versatility to play multiple positions, but Beason is an All-Pro calibre player that has played both positions before. I wonder if it's possible or asking too much of a player to say, come in at the Will spot on 1st down and then slide inside to the Mike on say 2nd down and roll different LBers in and out accordingly. It's not normal in a 4-3, but just trying to throw a little forward thinking out there with the advancements of the game itself to gain that advantage. Again, not many players would be capable of doing it, but the Beasons, Ray Lewis', Patrick Willis' of the game might be able to swing it and keep offensive coordinators and players confused as to who's covering whom and where the pressure and coverage is coming from and rolling over to.
