I don’t think that matters for him. 

He is a skilled and big enough WR that he will be very productive and dangerous in the NFL.

Props to him. People questioned how fast he could run the 40 and he pulled off a great time. Earned himself being a top 5 pick but If he fell to 8

There's underwear fast and then there is game day fast.  Are we sure that he is game day fast?  Pro day 40's can be charitable to players.

I mean, we can say that about every player. Some Huddlers are digging out Warren even more. I see players who have been effective last season (Warren supremely so). I've seen relative speed in spurts, but like Dude intimated, when you have that size and ability to use that big body effectively, relatively good speed is some degree of a bonus.

Truly curious.  Would you take him at 8 and if yes, what other players would have to be off the board to make you take him?  I have wavered back and forth on what players I would take him ahead of at 8.

Played against mediocre competition and had trouble creating separation.

I think he will at worst be a productive NFL receiver, but I don't think there's any chance we draft him.  At this point, if there's not a public love letter about a prospect, they probably aren't even on our board.  I think there's next to a 0% chance that we draft McMillan or Warren.

So essentially he would have run ~4.65 at the combine. Kind of what was expected if I recall correctly. And good for his size.

Upon further research, there is a little bit of a controversy, as scouts there clocked him any where between 4.54-4.57 (still not super slow, but not fast either).

So, you just want to add to the controversy with this post as well?

Because it's not correct either, as some had him timed as fast as 4.46.

There were 40 scouts there apparently, so yea, when they're all hand timing him, it's going to give you a wide range of possible times, but in the end, 40 times don't matter anyways.  Running a 4.46 or a 4.58 is basically all the same when his game isn't predicated on speed.

He has more than enough speed given all his other attributes he brings, which is all that matters in the end.

No, he's not a track star, but his size and hands are both 99th percentile amongst NFL WRs.  Which is why I don't get all the fan hand wringing over his speed, because it's just ignoring the things he can do that almost every other WR in the NFL can't do.
