Steve Smith Rumor *already dismissed*

The only NFL team I could POSSIBLY see signing Jarrett is the Raiders. But honestly, the CFL is calling his name.

well, Jarrett was HIGHLY regarded coming out which still might play in his favor.....couple that with the fact teams don't appear to think we have a clue about WR (I mean, Keary Colbert got what I consider a HUGE deal when he should have been picked up for league min. if a team wanted to try him out). Jarrett probably also didn't spend enough time on the field for teams to be certain of anything.....

I could see him getting a shot next season before he fades away.

dont even lie, you would poo your pants with excitement if brees was calling #89 in the huddle every sunday.

I wouldnt hate it. Like DBIG said, you have to me a team player to be a saints receiver. Brees spreads it around so much. But yeah if Smith would buy in, it would be great....

fantasy forum though...

Those are their picks next Draft? Good lord. That FO knows how to do it the right way. I'm jealous.

I understand it's been dismissed, and I'm late to the party, but Buck made an interesting point today on WFNZ. Moss wanted like nine million next year. The Pats were in no way going to give him that. So instead of wasting everyone's time, losing value here and there with him, etc., they simply got rid of Moss while they could get the most for him. Right now.

Smith, who of course he should retire as a Panther, could be seen the same way. He'll want more money when his contract expires and we won't want to give it to him. If we're truly "going young", why not get what you can for him now. It's not like we're going to the Playoffs or anything. Get a draft pick, that's where the FO claims we're building from here on out.

But like it's been said, dismissed, and it was never going to happen anyway. But it does make you see that side of it. Smitty will be asking for even more come his next contract.

2nd Round (CAR – 2010 3rd Round) 0-4

2nd Round

They're looking at a high 1st rounder and a high 2nd rounder...probably 3 1st round talent prospects going to them...wow...

They just benefit off the stupidity of other teams. I wouldn't call them geniuses, just really opportunistic.

I think this thread is getting a little too much attention; from what I hear Glazer said should and not would.

Agreed. I was listening to the show on my way in today and Glazer never said anything about the Patriots doing that. He said if he was Billicheck then he would. Wayyyy different. He said it again on his live chat on foxsports too. He said Smitty must be very frustrated and if he were Smith he'd beg to be sent packing.

So allow me to recap this thread. If Jay Glazer was BB, he'd want SS. If Jay Glazer was SS, he'd want BB. Luckily for all of us Jay Glazer is Jay Glazer, so none of this has any merit.

Also, I don't think NE would give us as much as we wanted for a guy that may or may not play for the next month. Just saying.

Maybe, but they have the guts to take advantage of other teams' stupidity while the Panthers brass sits on their hands year after year...with the occasional ploy to get guys like Armanti and Brown (sigh). The J-Stew and Otah ploys were nice though...assuming one isn't always injured.
