Jerry Richardson is the Coward

Stop bashing the rookie QB.

How about bashing the billion $$ owner who always sends his GM puppet to speak for him.

When is the last time our owner 'spoke' about this team to the media, to the fans, to anyone.

He is the owner and president and the mastermind of this pro football disaster.

The buck stops with him.

If he were to write something for the Observer to print (other owners/teams have done this), and give some sort of State of the Team type editorial, or even a half-assed apology, I think it'd take a lot of heat off everything. In fact, perhaps we should all write Fowler or Sorensen and relay that. Maybe they can relay it to the FO and maybe JR will stick his head out of his office long enough to acknowledge the fans for once. But, he won't, he'll raise ticket prices once again, and when we all come back in 2012, we'll have these same youngsters who will have regressed after not playing in 2011.

Jeery "Shinn" Richardson has already locked his wallet preparing for a lockout. He will still get TV money if there is no season next year so he doesn't care about the fans. The only way to properly display our displeasure is to start wearing bags over our heads at the games and to BOO loudly at every chance. Perhaps the public embarrasment of having his fans shown on ESPN with bagged heads will get him to sell the team.

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
