How many more loses would it take to fire Fox?

This article on cbssports.com on 49ers coach Mike Singletary is why I think Fox is gone after the next game.

Singletary’s animated demeanor gained him instant stardom when he first jumped on the scene as the Niners interim coach in 2008. He went 5-4 that season and was thought to be turning the organization around. But what observers did not think about was that being an interim coach is more about motivation skills than tactical aptitude. An interim coach inherits a system and modus operandi that are already in place; their main job is to help change the mindset in the locker room.

Why we should fire Fox midseason.

0 losses and we now have 5, I didn't think he was coming back no matter what happened this season. I still feel that way. He wants way more money then JR is willing to pay him and other teams are going to pay him what he wants...

I would expect him to be the NYG head coach if Coughlin retires.. If not, maybe somewhere like San Fransico or Clevland.

I meant five total, meaning I think he's already gone regardless.

He doesn't really even have to be fired, just not rehired.

After being hung out to dry this year, Fox wouldn't likely take the job even if it were offered to him. He was snubbed when he wasn't extended last year and I suspect already knows where he wants to go. The break up will be mutual and Fox is gone already despite what happens this year.

I knew what you were saying... I was simply saying that even if he went 16-0 this season he wasn't coming back. He doesn't want to be here, I'm sure at this point that JR doesn't want him here...On top of that He's wanting too much money for JR to pay a coach... He's already making 6 mil this season and he's looking to move up the ranks into the top 5 in money for coaches next season.

Which will happen someone will give him a 5 year contract worth 45 million or something close to that.

I've said many times that this is one of those situations where the combo of team and coach has gone as far as it can. Honestly, I was saying that last season too.

A new start could be the best thing for both parties.

agreed and I would prefer the new coach to be offensively minded or to have an heck of an OC that's willing to throw down the field and mix up the play calling a bunch.... It would be nice after all these years of fox ball.

I will say pretty much what most have...... and that is Fox wont be fired until after the season. If he was going to be fired it would have been the past offseason, but JR didnt do it because of the CBA. Lets not forget JR gave him the option to take another job if he found one or was offered one he wanted.

We are stuck with Fox until the season is over. If it was going to happen, which it wont, then it would have been done after the Bears game with the extra week for the interim coach to prepare.

yeah it was going to happen it would have happened yesterday.

Jerry has already paid him and apparently the two aren't on speaking terms. the only way Jerry "lizard jew" Richard$on could get some money back would be if Fox resigned.

Doesn't surprise me at all if they aren't on speaking terms. Gives me a lot of the same feel Peppers had been talking about. Fox is being run out of town at this point. With the playcalling, it wouldn't surprise me if Fox is losing on purpose in spite of his treatment in the final year of his contract. A good owner would have poured money into the team this year because there could be no football next year (IE go get McNabb or something). But we went cheap and Fox is screwed.

    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
