Cutting edge analysis below

https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-50-2025-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-4-0

You gotta remember, Daniel Jeremiah talks to the scouts and GMs.....

Notable highlights:

#1 Abdul Carter (Edge)

#2 Travis Hunter (WR/CB)

#3 Ashton Jeanty (RB)

#4 Mason Graham (DT)

#5:  Jalon Walker (LB)

#6 Tyler Warren (TE)

#7  Coltson Loveland (TE)

#15 Nick Emannwori (S)

#22 Mykel Williams (Edge)

#32 Mason Taylor (TE--3 TEs in round 1????)

WR rankings (oh my!!  This is going to piss some folks off--I don't think a slot WR--Egbuka--should be in the middle of round 1, personally)

#16 Matthew Golden (told ya this a month ago!!--you mocked me, some scoffed)

#17  Emeka Egbuka (the sleeper we have not talked about enough!)

#18  Tetairoa McMillan (according to the NFL Network Path to the Draft Crew-Ross, Brooks, Charles-the comments may have hurt his stock among GMs--I do think it might be a bit overblown, but hey, he raised the red flag--nobody else.  I am sure he will explain his meaning to satisfy GMs)

#33 Luther Burden III (he has dropped quite a bit)

Noteable Edges NOT in top 50, which means they could be there in the second:  Jack Sawyer, Princely. and my super sleeper pick who could be there in round 3--Josaiah Stewart, Michigan.

MHS PREDICTIONS:

It sure looks like #5 Jalon Walker Edge will be the pick---Mykel Williams dropped to #22.

Most of the players we draft on days 1 and 2 will have a first name that starts with the letter J.

Alot of players in this draft have the name Jalon spelled in many different ways

Honestly I haven't even thought about it till today,  now I'm worried.

I was shocked to see him in the top 10, but top 5?  We should be OK.

The 2 QBs are not in the top 10, they will probably go top 3.  Hunter and Carter are def. going top 5.  So, with 4 gone, the next four will have to include Graham and I really think Jeanty will go before we pick--not sure, but I think he will.  So I need to type this up

  • Tennessee Ward QB
  • Cleveland Carter Edge
  • Giants Sanders, QB
  • Patriots, Hunter, WR/CB
  • Jacksonville, Mason (but I hear they really like McMillan) DT
  • Las Vegas, Jeanty RB
  • NY Jets, Membou OT

I could see NE taking Membou, and then Jacksonville takes Hunter-so it could get crazy.

I do not see Walker going in the top 6

The Pats' OL was dreadful last year and they spent heavily on D in free agency. They really should take the #1 OT at #4.

I think he will because I think the 2 QBs will be gone, Carter, Hunter, Membou, and Graham.  If the Raiders take Jeanty, and there is a lotta chatter that they will, we should get Walker--of course, if Walker goes earlier, it could mean that Graham, Jeanty, or Membou drops to us--that would give us trade back capital.

Or we just go Will Johnson and get our edge in the 2nd

I see

Ward

Sanders

Hunter

Carter

Graham

Jeanty

As definitely  going before our pick. Then you add in teams with young qbs that need protection... So add in at least 1 Oline(maybe 2)...  I think it will come down to Walker n Warren or trade back and Nick or Golden.  Funny he has  Warren  top 10 but he gets so much hate.  Dude is athletic  and has the dawg mindset Dan looking for.

I think Membou is that OT, but he is a RT---I think they have Moses there now--not ideal

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
