Clausen not part of the team...

I hope that Luck or Newton adjust to the NFL faster than Jimmy... Unfortunately, it seems like he's still a kid at heart. That's a shame because of how big of an opportunity he is going to miss out on because maturity wise, he just doesn't seem ready yet.

I've felt that it's unfair to properly judge anybody this year, but trends are definitely shown as the season continues. Jimmy is not responding to adversity well at all, and that's bothersome. The situation itself though has been fubar from the get go. At this point anybody that is shining should be considered special. Goodson, Smitty, LaFell, Gettis, and a big chunk of the defense have definitely gotten a lot more respect from me.

Clausen's throwing motion makes me rage.

The most disappointing thing for me is that the entire fan base has given up on a rookie thrust into a poo situation.

That said, I should have expected that given the number of empty seats today.

situation looks a lot more shitty than it really is b/c of the shitty QB play.

decent ST and D. decent run game. a top WR.

Goodson is making plays, Gettis has made some, ....bottom line is good players show you glimpses even when things aren't going great. Hell, Moore had moments of what looked to be good play.

Excuses for Jimmy have to stop. He has been consistantly bad.

Agreed, our defense was 4th in the league before the offense left em out to dry.

They have seen the field too much, and have sustained injuries because of it.

What the defense has actually done is even more impressive considering the teddy bears we have at DT.

Really don't think it's a fan base giving up so much as an opportunity to draft a potential 10 when you have a potential 8 at the most important position on the football field.

And not much has happened to encourage that 8 thought.

meh. our D is injured now, but they weren't really playing at the level of a top 5 defense overall imo.

also, even with Moore, we had issues with them being on the field all the damn time. ultimately, the main difference to me is now that we have a decent run game, Clausen should be able to complete at least some short throws... but he's not... he's missing nearly everything, and it's painful to watch.

He really hasnt given us ANYTHING on which we can back him. All he's had to do was show us a little something, give us a little hope for the future but hasnt given us that. Even with the "poo situation", he's had opportunities to show us something, some potential; he just hasnt. Dude just doesnt look like a NFL QB. I know many of us are tired of the mediocre/horrible QB play, we want a real QB. We're going to have to have one if we want to compete in this division. Jimmy aint gonna cut it. Hopefully, we get Luck or Newton

First team I would try and trade Clausen to would be Kansas City, if they pass...then you might as well dump him.

Current teams running versions of the West Coast Offense or using WCO principles would be the Vikes, Eagles, Packers and Browns (to some degree the Pats).

Other teams might pick it up next year with coaching changes.

Those are the kind of teams I'd try to get to deal for Clausen.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
