Local fan perspective: Richardson continues stubborn streak

Happy Panther

So which one of you penned this?

With all the potential offensive candidates out there that could bring the Panthers new offensive life, it is mind boggling why Richardson is being so hard headed. The truth is, offense costs money both in player and coaches. Richardson is so locked into the possible labor strike that he is cutting corners at every opportunity. At a press conference this week, he actually was unapologetic about the horrendous season he brought on with the cuts. In addition, he had the nerve to tell Panthers fans that he was not signing any free agents until an agreement was reached.

......................

Spend some darn money and bring in a good offensive/defensive mind like Cowher, Gruden, Billick or even Harbaugh. At least Harbaugh understands what it means to move the football through the air on occasion.

Richardson is in a precarious position with this decision. If he brings in another John Fox clone and has another disastrous season, he could lose his fan base in a big way. The fans are tired of the run, run pass mentality that our offense has been centered around for years. It is time to spice things up at least a little.

lol, the writer of this piece apparently just finished writing a piece about predictions for the WWE this year and for herping for Pet Snakes. Thank you Yahoo for making yourself into Bleacherreport.

Oh. my guess is this will go on for quite some time. Like, well into next season. My suggestion would be to either start ignoring or move on because this isn't something that's going away anytime soon.

Imagine if our owner were: Jerry Jones, Al Davis, Art Modell, Robert Irsay? It could be worse. JR has a very difficult obstacle in front of him that we don't understand because we don't have his decisions to make. Don't treat him like a George Shinn or he might become one. Wait and see. We have reason to be excited.

Yes casual fans want retread head coaches and trash bags of cash thrown at big name free agents. Earth continues to spin.

Also lol at "good offensive mind" and "Cowher" in the same sentence.

all Cowher would bring is a variation of Foxball. He would add the 3-4 element and that is about it. When Cowher returns....ultimately he is just going to damage the god-like reputation he now has.

    • The framing continues to be if you disagree with this top 10 play making….its then somehow spun as denying his improvement or hating. if you take Bryce’s career and exclude his last 2 starts……there really is no objective argument that isn’t a bottom tier starter to date. Is yeah, it’s cherry picking, recency bias and his surprising inability improvement driving it into a bit of silliness.  Literally nothing argued here except the top 10 stuff is overkill.   But it’s also the same time of year when folks can get bashed for saying Frank is a bad hire, Fitterer sucks and should be fired with Rhule, Ben McAdoo was a joke hire for a staff that forced into rejects, Rhule doesn’t know what he is doing and clearly exposed when reporters got into camp, the Sam/Baker comp and not picking one is dumb, and on and on.  Lot of frankly conservative takes are spun as wild hate this time of year.
    • Doing a little digging and it looks like PFF didn't penalize him for the XL drop during that Chiefs game.  I also think the moral of the story is most teams aren't chunking it 20 plus yards for completions multiple times every game.  Hit a couple of those and you can be one of the top "deep" ball passers that week.
    • Of course he needs to put together a full season and there is no reason to suggest he won't. His progress last year was great and unless you think he has already reached his ceiling he should continue to get better. That is why folks are excited for the first time in years. Who knows what will happen but to have a qb who finished the year playing excellently and is only going into his 3rd year, you need to be excited. At least until we have reason to think differently.
